My 15yr old cat has small bugs ( tip of pencil size ) crawling in his fur. Spred his fur and usually see some crawling on his skin. They are pretty much every where I look, his belly, aroun his face. They seem to jump or fly. Their guick to catch. I know their not bed bugs but are they fleas or mites or something else?

Sounds like fleas. You should get your cat to the vet, also get Revolution. That's what I use for my cats.

Yes, sounds like fleas. If he has a lot then they are probably in your carpets and furniture. You will need to deal with that problem as well or he'll just keep getting re-infected with them. I use human grade Diatomaceous Earth (which is a fine powder and completely safe for animals and humans, sprinkle it into your carpet and furniture, leave about a week and then vacuum.

Also, if they are indeed fleas, it is likely he will also have tapeworms since they get tapeworms from ingesting fleas so your vet will probably give you Drontil or another tapeworm medication.
