Adding two cats, any difference in the process?

Here's my first question for the group. I'm familiar with the process for slowly introducing a new cat to an existing cat, both through internet articles, reading this forum, and from the book Cat vs. Cat. However, I'm wondering if this process should be tweaked in any way since I'm getting two newcomers who are already a tightly bonded pair. Any thoughts from the group?

Do you mean introducing two new cats to an already existing adult cat? If so I have a few idea's I can share with you tomorrow if you wish.

Yes, Cat Person. I'm adopting two rescues. A 1 1/2 year old very laid back boy and a 1 year old rather shy girl. I'm adopting the two because they are a very bonded pair. I'm plan to handle it the same as introducing one new cat by starting them in a separate room, etc., but didn't know if there were any tips specifically for this situation to encourage them to bond with Chance also and not just pair up with each other. Chance is also pretty laid back.

Well your protocol sounds great. I can only add a few minor things that have helped me.

When doing the scent mingling via the towels first do each cats scent separately. Like cat A's scent on a towel and then cat B's on a towel. Then both cats scents on towel C.

Another thing I have found to be helpful is to induce the current cat to the "dominant newcomer first". Then once the current cat and "dominant newcomer" are "friends" have the current cat meet the more "submissive cat".

I hope that made sense. If it does not then please let me know and I will clarify.
