Kora, My Angel

My Beautiful Kora girl,

I made the hard decision to let you go yesterday, Babygirl. When I saw you in the morning, something just told me inside, that it was time for you to move on and be with the big guy upstairs. I couldn't and wouldn't watch you suffer and let cancer hurt you anymore.

So many times, you helped me through when I felt lost and confused. I can remember just about everyday you were here with me since I brought you home, when you fit in the palm of my hand. I cherish those memories and take them with me wherever I go.

When I got you and your brother, Roscoe, I had never had kittens before. I was a little scared that I would do something wrong, but things always worked out back then. You taught me more then I could ever explain and helped me see things I had been missing, for years.

I had never had a cat that actually would bring the little Nerf soccer ball back to me when I threw it! But you did.
You amazed me by seeming to actually understand what I would say to you, lol.

Hungry? Meow!
Treat? Meow!!
Water? Meow!!!
Kora? Meow!!!!

You always made me smile.

You would lay on my chest and just stare at me. I always wondered what you were thinking. Then with you either putting a paw on my lip or rubbing your face on mine or even just rolling over in my arms so we could take a little nap, I knew I was blessed to be able to call you mine.

You always knew when I needed you, and you were always there. I thank you so much for that.

What happened wasn't your fault and you did NOTHING wrong. I have to make sure you know that.

I truly believe that you were sent here to save me in some way.

Rest in Peace, my sweet little Angel, because you did save me, in more ways then I could ever write here. I just wish I could've saved you so we could've grown old together.

I love you and miss you little girl, and rest assured, you will NEVER be forgotten.

May you fly with the Angels and play with Roscoe until I can get up to you.

Love Always, Papa.

P.S. Bugsy misses you too.

That was one of the most beautiful things I have ever read in my life.

RIP, sweet Kora. You were and are a special little girl, and even more lucky to have someone see the beauty of your soul.

You and Roscoe make sure to keep a good watch over your papa, he misses you very much.

Thank you everyone for the incredibly warm responses.

As mentioned in another post, it's so helpful in the grieving process to come to a place where people can understand, truly, what these incredible animals can do with/to us.

I think about my little girl every day and am so glad I could share her with all of you, in some way.

I love and miss you, Kora!

I know this thread has been done a while, but I found your post so touching. Like anyone who has truly bonded with their pet, I understood your pain and know how truly awful it is. I hope time has helped some, and the knowledge that you saved Kora so much pain and suffering by deciding to take the suffering.

Wherever she is, she will love you all the more for that.

I found it incredibly moving, as well. I am facing putting down my lil 4 month old Pete (he is in the avatar pic) any day now. I am so sorry about Kora. You paid her a loving tribute and she was a beautiful girl.
