Oh Lauren - I am so sorry to hear this!
But I think your mom will be okay: she sounds like she has a lot of spirit in her, and will overcome this with flying colors. I will keep her in my prayers!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Just keeping your mom in my thoughts. Sending more vibes and keeping her in my prayers.

Hope you had a safe drive.

You should have given DH instructions to keep us posted if you don't have a computer up there!

Thank you everyone. Yesterday was the first day since I joined TCS last December that I didn't log in
. Drove up to Green Bay to see mom. I held back the tears when I saw her laying there. She has two gashes on her forehead, bruised fingers from being upside down in car and hanging on, very badly bruised arms. I found out she did cross over into head on traffic and in the ditch on that side and hit the tree the car flipped up. it is a MIRACLE from God that she is alive and didn't kill anyone else on the road either. She was cushioned by her ANGELS
.

She can barely move. I helped her eat her liquid lunch and she had a tear. I have never felt such compassion and empathy towards her in my whole life. We have had a difficult relationship. I just wanted to cradle her and told her all will be well. My mother is a very strong willed woman, with much determination. She will pull through.

Then, on the way home to my parents house in door county from the hospital, Larry was driving and we were following my dad home. It is an hour drive home from the hospital. Half way home, a deer ran into the side of my dads car. The deer died instantly. My dads car has a huge dent in the side and he has to make another claim to the insurance. could have been another terrible accident for my dad. I am thinking my parents shouldn't drive at all anymore...

Thanks for continued prayers. Will log on again at the hospital to give me something to do. We have our two old dogs with us. That is a whole other thread........

Lauren, there are miracles happening here. Hold on to your hope. Your Mom will pull through fine, even if she's fragile now. Weird about your father's accident!

Just reading this now. All three hospitals in Green Bay (I'm nearby) are really good ones so I'm sure your mom is getting the best care possible.

Lots of deer moving around this year more so than in the past. Do your parents live in Sturgeon Bay or farther up-you know those roads and how wooded they are.

Hoping your mom has a speedy recovery.

Just got home tonight. My mom was doing better today. She was able to roll herself on her side and sit up on the edge of the bed all by herself. She is trying so hard but realizes this will be a slow recovery. She will go to rehab in about a day and hopefully by the end of next week, she can go home ifnshe can at least walk a few steps to the bathroom on her own and start to dress herself. I told dad if he needed me I will come back. I am worried about my dad, this is very draining on him. My sister is flying out in one week and will stay at my parents house up north till after the reunion at the end of this month to help my dad. Mom might be home by then.

I saw the accident site today. It was very upsetting. But we are so very thankful and blessed that my mom survived this.

I am sorry if i am not making much sense right now. I am so wiped out. And to top it all off, my daughter didn't care for my cats properly and never fed the ferals either. I came home to another family issue, one that has been ongoing with her. I will never trust her again to care for my babies. Never. This was the last of many, many straws. So I am just a wreck andnhave to go to bed and figure this all out with her. We had to throw her out tonight. It has been a few years of BS and for her to take advantage of this family emergency, her Grandma, is inexcusable.

So I am going to collect myself. Will catch up with things here on TCS tomorrow.
and thanks for all the vibes and prayers for my mom. I told her all about TCS. My parents have a Ragdoll mix named Oliver. They love cats too.

Hi Gail
They live in Egg Harbor. The accident was on 42 just South of Townline Rd. Near Carlsville. About thirty feet South. She just missed a telephone pole. There is a construction horse near the accident site. I also saw the car yesterday at the wreck yard. Just awful. Her accident was on the radio. Mom is well known up in Door County and started that program, The Door of Hope, a grief support group. My mom is a chaplain. Her name is Joan. Thanks for your prayers

to you and your mom and dad. And to your kitties too, hope they are no worse for not being properly cared for in your absence.
