We have a tiny little desk in our apartment. With 2 of use who spend a great deal of time at the computer and do work from home, it just wasn't cutting it! So, I found a used desk. It's big...almost too big for our space, but it was really nice and the price was right. So, I had to do some reconfiguring of our "office area." In that area is the cat's cat tree. I got it when they were kittens and they used to play on it a bit, but really haven't touched it much in the last couple of years. It's a short, wide one, so they'd rather climb on the furniture! In any case, the desk and the tree won't fit in the space we have, and we don't really have another place to put the tree, so I decided to sell it. I've put an ad on Kijiji and already have a few potention buyers.

Here's the problem. In the two days since we decided to get rid of the tree, every time I turn around, there is a cat sleeping, playing, or climbing on it. They must have heard me!

I'm still getting rid of it, because we simply don't have the space. However, I may look into getting them a tall one that takes up less floor space. Of course, they'll probably ignore that one too! (actually, I think they'll enjoy the tall one - we have really high ceilings, but nothing they can get up high on).

Here's a couple more pictures:

Delilah (AKA Fatty Catty, Roly Poly; Chunky Monkey):
Belle (refusing to look at the camera):

Is it in the same spot as before or a new one? They may just like the new spot. Then in perfect cat attitude, they will ignore the new tree in the old spot.

They do look quite comfy and happy on it.

It has been moved slightly, but they started the whole "hey, this toy is fun" thing before I moved it!

It just figures they'd show interest as you're ready to get rid of the tree, doesn't it??
They do seem pretty content with it... Hope they like the new taller tree too!!

Where did you get that tree from? It would go nicely in by the living room window here. I like the wideness of it.

Cute tree - I think I looked at a similar one! And of course, very gorgeous models.

I got it from PetValu when the girls were kittens - so 3 years ago or so. I think I've seen it there since, though. I believe it was on sale for $100 at the time.

My cats would've preferred something taller. It was OK when they were kittens, but as they got older, they stopped using it, in favour of furniture that was taller.

The cat tree is being picked up tonight. Sorry kitties, but I think you'll like the new desk!
