On Friday July 3rd, we had to put Moose to sleep.
He had an intussuscecption and possible FIP. And at least the intussusception was making him very anemic. So much that the emergency pet clinic we took him to that morning was doubtful they could even stabilize him. After a lot of phone calls and a couple hours later, we decided we should put him to sleep. I didn't want to do it there. We took him home and called a vet to do it there. I didn't want to do it that day... i wanted to try to at least wait until the next day because it was our wedding anniversary and i didn't want it to be associated with Moose's death. but he was so weak and if we stopped giving him food and water he would quickly become weak again... it would be selfish to wait. i just wish i would have known how long the stuff would take to take affect. it was too fast.

i like these pictures of Moose... he was so hyper before he got sick. he loved to wrestle and cuddle.

this is Choli (our first cat), Dexter and Moose.

when Moose met Choli for the first time

Moose being cute

sneak attack on my bunny Jefri.. they became good friends..

mid pounce

Moose hanging out in Jefri's cage... eventually he spent a lot of his time in there cuddling with his friend

Moose.... trying to figure out what Jefri does...

Moose <3

I have mini panic attacks sometimes when i realize he's really gone. he wasn't just a pet, he was my baby. we cuddled every night. he was so cute. he would suck on his foot when we cuddled. kinda like a baby sucking his thumb. he liked it so much he would purr really LOUD keeping me and my husband up (we eventually got used to it). now its hard to go to sleep without it. I've had pets before and we still have 2 other cats, but Moose was so lovable and fun. Home isn't the same without him.

RIP my sweet little boy.

Oh Moose, what a sweet, sweet kitty...full of fun as well.

We all know Moose now. And he will be in my prayers as well as you and your husband.

He may be gone from your sight, but I truly believe he is now healthy, and happy with our little ones at the Bridge.

Play free at the Bridge, sweet boy.

hi everyone. thank you all for your kind words. I know now it was for the best. last week the vet confirmed that the tests showed definite FIP... or as definite an FIP test can give... so. I'm glad we let him go before he really started to suffer.
