HI there-
I have a 10 yr old cat, Trouble who's first symptoms were weight loss. She was always a larger cat and suddenly we started to notice weight loss and increased drinking. We took her to the vet...3 blood tests, urine test and xrays later we still don't have an answer. This is what we know:
-she has elevated proteins in her blood, (poly not mono)
-we've started to give her tuna and salmon every 2 hours and she's gained 2 lbs because she's ravenous.
-she's starting to show lethargy, weakness in her hind legs (no longer jumping, running and has a bit of a swagger) more often-not all the time.
-weak meow, sometimes

Vets reco are to see an internist or to start steroid treatment.

Anybody have a similar experience or can offer up some friendly advice?

thank you.

Welcome to TCS, even though it's under such stressful conditions.

I have no real words of advice for you, but I guess the thyroid has been checked, diabetes has been ruled out, and chronic renal failure has also been ruled out?
