My 1st Etsy purchase!

My uncle had given me some money to buy something to remind me of my Mom. Some of you may remember the hummingbird post recently. I really think that the hummingbird showing up was not a coincidence. I think Mom sent her to me. I've been searching for the perfect hummingbird necklace, and found it.

It's a bit pricey, and more than I wanted to spend, but it does do double-duty: I wanted something to commemorate seeing my first hummingbird, AND my Mom! I just couldn't dind anything else that "spoke" to me like this necklace. Many don't represent the hummingbird species I have, also.

(Drat! I can't seem to copy & paste the pic, and there's no other way of linking it w/out showing sensitive info!)

No. Here's my Phobucket album for the pix:

The necklace is a strand of (dyed) pale green freshwater pearls, with a handmade sterling silver pendant, with a hand-enameled painting of a ruby-throated hummingbird. It's GORGEOUS!

The artist named the pednant "Tiny Warrior". My brother recently told me that Mom was very, very sick the last couple of days of her life, and "fought like a warrior". And Mom was tiny, like me--about 5ft, 2"...

Thank you! I just knew it was the right one when I saw it this morning. I usually dislike dyed pearls, but I think the pale green goes well with the bird's coloring.

Joya the hummingbird has been such a comfort these past few weeks. I see her several times a day, and she always makes me smile. They're such amazing little avian machines! I love the wing action.

That necklace is really pretty. I think it's a great way to commemorate your mom and Joya. Glad she's still been coming around to visit you!!

Awww..I think that is a wonderful idea! I have done the same also with my parents, but mom in particular.

I love hummingbirds and that necklace is perfect for what you want it for. If it is a little more than what you wanted to pay - so what?! If it fits, get it! If you don't, you will regret it.

Go for it! It will make you so happy!
