50% off at Petsmart this weekend! July 1-4. Click here for your local circular.

I'm glad I've waited a bit to go shopping. I have canned food, Dr. Elsey's, a new litter scoop, and toys on my list. I'm hoping they'll be included in the sale!

They should have a lot more on sale than what's in the circular. Are you planning to buy anything this weekend?

Groceries that don't require cooking (see the daily question thread) and cat food. I really have to keep some stuff on hand that only requires opening a tin and no heating/cooking. That way, if the power goes out, just have to open one more tin to feed us all

Haven't looked at the flyer for this weekend, probably loaded with barbecue stuff.

Oh... I bought 4 bags of Dr. Elsey's litter on Monday! I had a $10 off $40 coupon though.. I should've bought a scooper too, mine is about to snap anytime now.

Anyway I will not be going to the stores this weekend. Too crowded!

May grab some friskies as I am buying for my friends cats now too and hers eat that. Going to wait for mail to see what coupons I get

Nothing at PetSmart this weekend. The Birds came in for the kids, so they have those and some meeces to play with. And we have a pretty good supply of their wet and dry foods, so we're good to go.

I wish our PetSmart carried Da Birds, but it doesn't.

I ventured out about 10:30 to avoid traffic & crowds and had a very quick trip! The Humane Society was at the Petsmart with the most amazing kitties
Bringing one home wouldn't be fair to my boys, but oh man did I want to!!

Nothing I wanted was half off
but I still thought it was pretty good! After getting recommendations from y'all in this thread, I've temporarily switched to Sophistacat instead of Blue Wilderness. I got a month's supply of the Sophistacat, a 40-pound bag of Dr. Elsey's, new scoop with caddy, a large, flat food pan, some catnip and a few toys for $48. Not too bad.

(Now I need only to see if the cats will eat the new food...)

We feed wet food only to most of the kitties, but we're juggling some with urinary crystal issues one with allergies, and an overweight kitty. We only switched to the all wet diet last November, and after nine years of free feeding, two of the boys and one of the females just haven't made the switch, so I supplement those three with dry food.

Flowerbelle gets the Science Diet Hairball dry food (in addition to her four small meals of wet food a day).

Lazlo and Tuxedo get a dry mixture of prescription c/d, Instinct (chicken) dry, Before Grain (chicken) dry, and Orijen (dry). They need the prescription, but I improve the quality by mixing the others. The mix is 70% prescription, and 10% each of the other three.

None of these are sold at Petsmart.

The wet food I feed is rotation:

Instinct: Rabbit, Venison, Turkey, and Chicken. (Petsmart doesn't sell Instinct). (The peas and carrots are easy to pick out).

Evo: Venison, Duck, and the Chicken/Turkey.

Weruva... Several of the chicken/chicken & rice formulas (they have some potato starch in the them, but it's a very small amount as a binder for the gravy). (The peas and carrots are easy to pick out).

Holistic Select: Lamb & Chicken, Duck & Turkey, and Turkey & Barley.

Wellness: Chicken. I also feed the Turkey & Duck pouches (I avoid the Wellness stuff with potato starch).

Royal Canin: Ultra Light.

Petsmart only carries the Wellness and the Royal Canin. So it's not worth the 45 minute drive.

We're on the east coast: I either order online if it works out to be cheaper with shipping than buying them at Pet Valu, which is local.

The litter we use is Walmart Special Kitty (green box: unscented, 99.9% dust free). $5.49 for ... 25 pounds? 28 pounds? Whatever the large box is.
