So we are adopting a new baby this weekend. She is an 8 week old siamese mix, extra cute. My issue will be the stealthy tubby gang of naked cats that reside with us LOL

They love to eat and I have no doubt kitten food will be irrisistable. I want the new baby to get all the nutrition she needs and not have the Sphynx crew balloon up.

Do I simply feed her seperately and then let her nibble the adult dry that is left out? She is currently being fed Royal Canin kitten food (not sure she will be kept on that) and my naked eat a mix of raw (mostly snacks), canned and dry kibble. They eat Solid Gold and Fromm products.

So sort the adults from baby and hope for the best?

Congrats on the new baby
8 weeks is pretty young. I had this same problem when I brought Swiffer home. I fed her separately for several months and finally it all just got to be too much. I was feeding 3 different wet and kibble formulas, kitten, adult and senior. Naturally the adult cats wanted the kitten food and vice versa - you know the drill

I finally called the vet (he is a big cat fan and does a lot of cat rescue work so I trust his judgment) and was told to go to 1 formula. I put them all on adult and have lived happily ever after. Swiffer was 6 months old when I switched them all to adult food. You might want to check with the vet to see what your options are. I'm not sure I would want to do this at 8 weeks.

I am going to call my vet that treats cats exclusively. She will have the best advice on how to proceed with her meals, shots and ultimately her spay. Its been decades since I had a baby this young. My sphynx gang came to me from 6 months of age on.

We did buy a variety of kitten canned food tonight and I will be trying her on some raw in tiny amounts as well. I know she needs to adjust slowly to avoid tummy troubles.

Im just so excited
