How long to wait?

Long story, will try to keep it short.

We'd been feeding Squeaky Purina One Natural. A few months back, they stopped making it and started produced Purina Beyond One. Score, I thought, a better quality food for the same price.

Alas, the new food never satiated Squeaky. Although we were feeding her the same amount, she would wolf it down and then whine that she was still hungry. She wasn't losing weight, so it wasn't like we were feeding her less calories.

So I thought, perfect time to move up the food quality scale. I chose TOTW Rocky Mountain Feline, as it had the most protein. I reasoned, more protein, will fill the cat up, maybe help her to eat less and lose some weight?

But she's not eating it! This is the cat who will eat anything - when we were feeding her Purina Beyond One, and she was still hungry, she would eat freaking dust bunnies off the floor for heaven's sake!

I currently have a mix of 1/4 TOTW, and 3/4 Purina Beyond One. Her usual MO is to get fed at 6 am, 6 pm and 9 pm. Food goes in the dish and it's gone within 5 minutes. But now, I put the food in, she looks at it, gives me a pathetic meow and wanders away. When I wake up in the morning, and at least 1/3 of the 9 pm food is still in the dish!

We've been trying this for 2 weeks. How long should we keep going before we give up and try another kind of food? She's definitely not ill - we just had her for her annual vet exam this last weekend, and aside from being overweight, she's good.

If she is overweight and now that you switched her to a better food she is eating less.. I'd say that's a win-win situation.

She will probably not be as hungry with TOTW as the Purina because of the ingredient list in both. She may be getting what she needs and is not as hungry as before. She may start to lose some weight but you did no indicate how much she might need to lose. For now, if it were me, I would stick to the regime you're on. Keep an eye on her and see how she does. Do you plan on switching her to TOTW exclusively?
