Since I got my new laptop in January, Holland is NOT allowed to lay on it. She knows this. She is allowed next to it in the "toasty" spot, she is allowed on my lap when I'm using it, but NOT on the keyboard. Still, without fail, EVERY night if I have it open, she tries to sneak onto the keyboard for a nap.

Tonight has been the worst. She was napping next to the computer for a while, then tried to creep onto the keyboard. She was sitting on my lap getting loves, then moved down to the toasty spot for a moment, then tried to creep onto the keyboard.

I know she knows what she's doing, because when she makes her attempts to get onto the keyboard she doesn't look right at me and moves one slow motion paw at a time, and when I pick her up to move her she has a look on her face that's half guilty and half in disbelief that her brilliant plan didn't work, because, you know, she's so sneaky.

Just how long does this exasperating adolescent phase last?!?

Oh do I ever understand. I'm on a laptop now and work from home a lot on it. I have a few who think my lap should be used solely for cuddles and NOT for laptops.

It's a constant battle for the keyboard here, both Da Magpie and her shadow, Bleu LOVE the keyboard and to add insult to injury, Da Magpie seems to think she can hatch the mouse and will sit on it and park her front paws on the keyboard. They get told NO, and get put on the floor only to repeat the same thing in a couple of minutes. Mercifully, I am currently catless, as they went somewhere else to snooze

My furbabies dont seem to care about the laptop as much, but whenever I or the bf are on the desktop computer....how dare we! One of the 2 quickly comes over and takes over the left hand side, usually pressing multiple keys etc. turning on accessibility options. They feel that where the keyboard is, is where they should be. So they push it out of the way or lie on it to make their point.

Once Holland managed to change my screen orientation so it was sideways - I had to turn my head at a 90-degree angle to see it. Took me forever to figure out how to fix it. It's not easy to google for help when you're reading sideways...

My Mom always insisted that having a cat was like having a perpetual 3 year old child.

Grow out of the adolecent stage? NEVER

And as I've said- Holland looks just like HollyHeart- and she is one of the most mischevious cats I've ever seen.

Maybe black cats are just the smartest/curious/ troublemakers

I guess I lucked out with Parker then. He is smart but he respects my rules..for the most part, that is.

My keyboard is certainly off limits. Doesn't stop him from trying to push my hands away from it when I am typing though.

I remember one time before I got my laptop I was talking to a friend in yahoo messenger. Dusty jumped up on my lap and proceeded to "type a message" and send to my friend. The message was something like "dhdfhbn fjipafgf" My friend was like "huh??" I just told her Dusty was saying "Hi, how are you?" She had a big laugh.

Mine do that, they've even managed to pop off keys (I found them and put them back on) and change some settings. I've had the side ways screen too, that was so hard to FIX LOL! Annnnnd I've left the comp real quick and came back to find that "someone" has opened 92346 new windows. They even managed to do some aol searches and google searches, LOL.

It was even funner (yes, new word) when I had a desktop. They tried to kill it, and almost succeded by throwing the moniter/keyboard/mouse in the floor and knocking it over.

Cats are SO MUCH fun sometimes LOL. They ARE trying to take over the world.

I still love my little monsters!
