Snowe immediately came to mind. Palin and Bachmann are caricatures of "Republican women", so a poor basis for making any kind of generalization.

Snowe is, of course, what is known as a "Rino." Republican In Name Only. I would call her an independent.

So, I'll ask again. Name a Republican who actually represents Republican core beliefs that you at least respect (even if you don't agree with her).

My bet is that most Democrats believe that any woman who is a Republican has betrayed her basic womanhood and must be a flawed person.

OK, I'll rephrase it. Name a Republican (or Conservative) woman who you respect, and who you think is worthy of regard by non-Republican women, even though they disagree with her political beliefs.

You see, one of the real problems with current politics is that too many people believe that if you disagree with them, you are not just wrong, but somehow stupid and/or evil.

Nikki Haley is a good example. I don't expect you to support her, but do you feel she would be a worthy nominee for President?

Ah, so now that you have answers, you qualify the question. That's also known as "moving the goal posts".

What you "call her" isn't really relevant. You asked for Republican women, people responded with the names of Republican party members, and that fully answers your question. The question now seems to be changing to "what Republican values that happen to be held by a woman do you support?" Completely different question.

Why in the world would being a Republican and a woman be at odds? I can't follow your train of thought. Condi Rice and Libby Dole are not in the outlandish league Palin and Bachmann are, though they're female Republicans.

And that is why I'm sure Palin won't run, and I doubt Bachman could be anything more than a VP candidate. To run, you have to get lots of financial support, and it just isn't there for their particular wing of the party, so far as I can tell.

For the first paragraph, I still say Nikki Haley. I disagree with probably half of her positions. But, she stuck by them through the campaign, never switched to "pandering" mode to dig for moderate or undecided votes, and once elected she still sticks by her guns.

I think she would be a worthy nominee. I might even go back to voting for a major party if she were to run. Honesty and integrity carry a lot of weight with me. That's why I would have voted for Huckabee if he'd ever gotten nominated.

There are a number of female politician who are Democrats that would never to get the nod of the party to run in a presdiential election because they are too polarizing. Pelosi has to be at the top of the list, as well as people like Feinstein (not sure if I spelled the name right).

I can't take Palin or Bachmann seriously as a candidate.

I wonder why she hasn't been mentioned? Maybe you've started a trend? I honestly haven't heard more than passing references to her.

Huckabee's problem is, first of all, his name. The types who think "Faux News" and "Obamalamadingdong" are the height of political commentary would never have let "Huckleberry" be elected.

And I would say Huckleberry has too good a thing going at Faux News to quit it to run against Obamalamadingdong.
