So what has the weather been like in the rest of the world?

Here in the U.S. the weather has been absolutely horrible lately. It started a few months ago when so many of us had to put up with a really bad winter. Then it progressed to a spring with severe storms and very powerful tornadoes in the south that caused a lot of distruction and killed large numbers of people. In the midwest (where I live) it was a really cool and wet spring.

And now for the current conditions: The midwest continued to be abnormally cool and wetter than usual. Even now in June it doesn't seem like summer at all. We see heavy gray clouds just about every single day, all day long. When the sun does come out, it doesn't last more than an hour or two, then it clouds up again, or the sun just peeks out for only a minute or two at a time. Everyone is really getting sick of cooler temps and daily rain. Serious wildfires are burning in several places in the south, and in places like Texas right now the temps are 100 degrees or higher.
So as you can see no one has really been enjoying good weather lately.

Just wondering if the unusual weather is only in the U.S. or if it's in the rest of the world too?

Germany had the driest spring in over a century, but there's been a little rain in the last two weeks. It's in the mid- to high-80s right now, which is no fun without air conditioning (pretty rare here). Thursday is supposed to be much cooler.

More or less the whole of Europe has been esxperiencing much drier conditions than usual, after an abnormally cold winter. Here in northeern France we are getting our first rain in over two months and the farmers are in trouble. There was a drought last year so some people are very near the edge of bankruptcy. But the rain is interspersed with very hot weather - today we reached 39C ( over 90F) and are awaiting thunder tonight. Really weird weather.

This morning I was woken up to incredibly harsh winds and driving rain/hail against my house. My bedroom is on the corner, so I ended up in a little ball under the covers like, please don't break my windows!

Luckily it didn't.

It's lovely here in central PA, about mid-80s, low to mid humidity. We've not had to run the AC in awhile, thank goodness. This is after a heckuva cold and snowy winter and an incredibly rainy spring.

Here is northeast Illinois, we have had some powerful storms.
. Just last week, the house next door was hit by lightening. The storms pass quickly and then we get some nice days. So far, for June it has been pretty mild temperature wise. That makes me happy, I dread the hot/humid weather.

I think monsoon about covers things here - worst flooding on the Souris River in history and that wiped out one small town, parts of two others and portions of three cities: Weyburn and Estevan and then it took on Minot. Now the Souris is going down and the Qu'Appelle is rising because the Moose Jaw is flooding. I have acres of water with a little bit of land sticking up beside the house, and the other quarter is completely under water because the Moose Jaw is a couple of miles wide now, more in some places. It's been cool, cloudy and just plain nasty here.

When I just logged onto the internet, my homepage announced it's a whopping 117 degrees outside. I haven't ventured out today, and doesn't look like I'm going to. I don't feel like being roasted
.

But, in all seriousness, it's scary what's happening all over the world. I, personally, think mankind HAS caused this, but guess that's for another thread. And with that said...I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow...somewhere cool and rainy

Here in Eastern Canada we had an incredibly cool, rainy spring. Yesterday was sunny and mild though and today is supposed to be even better. Here's hoping!

Here, near the arctic circle, it's been a cold spring. In early June we had very hot and sunny weather and after that the temperature dropped 10-15C and it was raining for over a week.
Now it's getting warmer again. Sunny at the moment and +27C (81F), this is supposed to last 'til the end of the week. So it seems the weather is very random, as usual.

Gross and hot here in Charleston, SC. It's been in the upper 90s-100s every day for quite some time now. We were in a drought for over a month. The humidity is nasty. It rained last Thursday for a little bit. Seems everyone else is getting the rain we want! At least 3 of my azalea bushes have died

The hot sunny weather is nice when I have time for the beach or am at the lake, but when I need the AC cranked at 6:30am in my car, eww!

I've seen news stories about the Souris. And then they say this flooding was caused by snow melt???!!
