Tough little kitten2

Meet Raymond. He was found by a co-worker who lives in the country but who has dogs inside. She asked me if I could take him and I couldn't resist. He's been to the vet's, who seems to think he was attacked. He's lost his left eye - the eye is in the socket but has no fluid. He can see OK with the other one. The eye wound corresponds with a head wound that looks like something's teeth punctured both.

He came to me all stuffed up with infection, just a puddle of bones and fur. But he is currently in my bathtub, playing with a ball. What a miracle a few doses of Amaxocillan can be!

We think he's about 4 weeks old. Once he's well enoug, he'll go onto the sunporch with the girls. (see tough little kittens)

BTW
The kitten was dropped at my my co-worker's farm. She's currently fostering two goats that were dumped there a few weeks ago! All her cats are outside and have been vetted and vaccinated. But with her dogs inside, she was just overwhelmed by this little guy. She couldn't bring him in and didn't want to leave him outside.

I didn't want anyone to think his condition was her fault. Just the opposite - she did the right thing and found him help.

Aww that sweet little baby is so lucky.... it just breaks my heart to see that sweet little face.... such a tiny baby to have already gone through so much in his short little 4 week life.

What an angel you and your friend are to take him in and give him the care he needs to get well.

Thanks everyone.

I probably should have put a graphic and/or cuteness warning on the post but didn't think of it. A friend has suggested his markings look Siamese. She's going to call a nearby rescue and see what they think.

Right now, I am just grateful that I have the means to help him and the four girls.

Raymond is much better. He's sees the vet today - his eye socket is weeping and I just want to make sure he's OK.

He has cabin fever in the bathtub. Every time I take him out, he whirlwinds through the room. He simply doesn't know what to do first. He's still bumping into things - he hit his head on the door stopper pretty badly, so I have to keep him in the tub when I'm not home.

Depending on what the vet says, he may go on the porch with the girls today ...

Awww bless his heart. I hope the vet gives him the all clear to be let out with the others then he can get used to it.

Mega healthy healing for his poor eye
