My neighbor called me earlier and said he saw an orange tabby, young, with a partial amputation of a rear leg run into the woods behind his house. As soon as the cat saw him, it ran. He said it got along quite well.

Well, now I keep looking out the windows for it.

Can I please have some prayers for this little one? There is a development on the other side of the woods with many new homes. I hope it came from there and just got out by mistake.

But if that's not the case, this little one will need all the prayers and vibes you can offer.

I will be keeping my eye out for it and try my best to help.

Thanks.

This may be more serious than an indoor cat that got out by mistake. Whenever I see a TV program or read about a cat or dog that has an amputation it is the entire limb that's removed, not just part of it. He may be feral, was injured, and survived.

Animals are adaptable though. If this young orange cat is a feral that was in an accident and healed on his own it will still be more difficult for him to survive than if he had all four legs.

Good luck with finding a way to help him.

Yes, I agree, this is quite possible. It would be swell to find him and be able to help him/her.

Good luck!

The way to take him is probably by a "human trap". He is probably livinig in this area.
You must of course be prepared you may get in some other cat too...

I remember a vice versa story. A trap for a seen semiferal, but in they got one amputee. Neighbours said he was around a time, apparently got hurt, did recovered on his own, and managed to survive as amputee.
That story ended luckily, they did even found a lady who was perfectly willing to adopt this shy, amputated cat. It was entirely OK for her him being shy and her doing quite some fostering too...

Lets hope for a renewing of this scene, a da capo!

Sending vibes!
