I don't know if I should put this in the Behavior or the Care section... but here goes.
Holland has had the same bed since I brought her home over 2 1/2 years ago. It's looking ratty & covered with hair, despite the fact that I lint roll it regularly:

So I bought her a new one several weeks ago. The style is similar, it's got high sides (she likes to push her back against the side when she's sleeping), it's soft on the inside, it's a perfect size for her:

The only thing is, she wants NOTHING to do with the new one. When I got it, I put it in the place where her bed normally is and threw her old bed off into the corner. She reacted by still curling up in her old bed. I've tried putting treats in the new bed, she will jump in only long enough to snag the treat then she gets right out.
I've noticed that she tends to get attached to things, and I don't know if it's a comfort issue or what. For example, her favorite toys are still the fuzzy mice her Aunt Kasey got for her right after I adopted her. Sometimes she just carries one around in her mouth from place to place so she can have it with her.
My brother-in-law said I should just toss the old bed so she has no choice, but the thought of doing that just makes me guilty...
I don't want to take away the old bed if it provides her a sense of comfort, but I know that if she gives the new bed a chance she will love it!
Any suggestions?
