Bugsy - after a long battle he is finally doing better!

As a lot of you know and have been following, Bugsy has been fighting a bad diarrhea since October 10th, brought on by a course of Clavamox used for an UTI.
We tried evrything on the book - all antibiotics - several courses, prednisolone, different diarrhea medications... After so many treatments his liver was affected and we needed to stop everything, even his stomatitis meds, which had some bad consequences for his teeth.
He was literally inches away from exploratory surgery as he could no longer be medicated...... That's when I decided to give Align, my IBD probiotic a try.... and it worked
Bugsy does not have solid poop and I am ok with that, but he has had consistently formed poop since beginning Align. His poop is also no longer yellow, and has a healthy brown color (sorry for the gross details).
He takes Align, his veterinarian Probiotic (Proviable-DC) and Runnipoo, a homeopathic diarrhea medicine - all with my vet's approval, of course.
He is doing great!!! I finally feel we turned the corner with him.
We are going back to the vet on July 23rd for another CBC and liver panel, but I am confident he is going to be fine!
Thanks for being there with me on this very long journey.... And if your cat has IBD or a diarrhea where nothing else works, talk to your vet about Align - it has proven to be a small miracle for Bugsy

How wonderful Carolina. I've taken special note of your journey with Bugsy, as Queen Eva seems prone do diarrhea. So far it is being controlled with a diet that contains no chicken or any other poultry or fowl (no turkey duck or quail either), but I have the stuff you've been giving Bugsy written down, just in case.

Thank you guys... It's been a long road.... Bugsy will always be my special boy , and will always keep me on my toes! I do think we won this fight though.... It is a daily balance and he needs to take his "meds" everyday on the clock, otherwise he goes back to having diarrhea... But it is ok... We will keep up with him and give whatever he needs to keep his system getting better and better every day.

otto, I feel your pain with the Chicken allergy (pain!!!) and being prone to diarrhea... One thing I have learned with Bugsy, is no more oral antibiotics - Bugsy from now on only takes injectable antibiotics. I would NEVER give Queen Eva Clavamox - might be trauma, but I have seen way too many diarrhea side effects, and since she is already prone... I would definitely stay away. Another thing that I would highly recommend to have at home is DiaGel. It is a gel that is used as a single dose - expensive, but magical. You can buy it online or get your vet to get it for you. It stops a bout of diarrhea like nothing else I have ever seen (provided it is nothing horrible like Bugsy's). Even for him, it helped a LOT. I gave him a loooong course though - I think 8-day 2x a day or something... It is amazing stuff. For regular diarrhea, I recommend only 2 doses 12 hours apart - this will probably stop any diarrhea you face... It is 100% natural and awesome.
I can find the PDF and post it here later for you.
Runnipoo helps a lot too. As far as veterinarian probiotics, both his vets said the best one is Proviable-DC.
Now, what REALLY made a difference, from day 1, that changed everything, was align. That was a milestone. While everything else helps, align was the breakthrough - the "cure" - what saved him from surgery.
I beat myself up everyday for no thinking of it before... I mean... I TAKE align for my own IBD, and it has changed my life....
There is another member here who is also using on her IBD cat based on my success with Bugsy with the same great results...
I think there are probably a bunch of cats out there on pred that could use this probiotic instead... SO much healthier!
I am just glad I have a vet who has an open mind and willing to try different approaches with me - Bugsy is on a completely natural approach for his diarrhea - and it is working better than all the drugs he has tried. I am just so happy I am not taking care of one disease to just take care of another afterwards (dealing with the side effects of all the meds), you know? For Queen Eva, and that she never goes through a World-Record diarrhea like Bugsy's

Ok otto, here is the DiaGel Brochure:
http://www.vanbeeknaturalscience.com...elBrochure.pdf

Here is the site in case you can't open the brochure (heavy file) http://www.vanbeeknaturalscience.com/comp_diagel.php

Here is where I buy online - again, it is $12 a pop, but WORTH IT. You can get your vet to buy it, so you don't pay shipping... Usually vets know this stuff... Mine did, he used a lot for puppies. http://www.revivalanimal.com/store/p/2561-DiaGel.aspx
