In memory of Lara

For my little Lara, gone too soon. I originally brought her home as a gift to my mother but she got attached to me instead. She gave me seven years of happiness which I'll always be grateful for. I hope you're happy, wherever you are.

It's only been two days since I had her euthanized but I've regretted it every minute since and I don't know if it will ever stop. I miss her so much.

You did what was best for Lara so be gentle with yourself.

Rest in peace, Lara.

Lara was so sweet. Or Lara is so sweet. For she lives on, maybe just beyond our sight.

Many hugs to you in your grief and regrets. But, as time goes on, you will know you did the right thing from a place of love.

May you soon look back with a smile and not a tear.

God bless.

Thanks everyone. Today was a little easier. With a baby at home I haven't been able to grieve like I wanted so I have to pick and choose my moments, like when it's quiet at work. I've still cried, but less and less.

When I get home from work I imagine her running out from behind the bushes to greet me, even though I know she's gone. I get flashbacks, like the day I brought her home or the times she would just sit next to me and sleep as I was watching TV.
