About 2 weeks ago, my 4 week old kitten was put down, because the vet thought she was showing signs of FIP. She seemed like a perfectly healthy cat until all of a sudden, she started bobbing her head and looking generally ill. She would lie there, head down as if she was fast asleep, but every time you touched her she would go crazy, and start running/jumping around for a few seconds, before going back to her previous state. We noticed that her eyes looked unfocused and her tongue was sticking out.

Last night, her brother was showing the same signs so we were devastated. He was purring continuously all night, which I read is also a sign of the disease. But this morning when we went to check on him, he was acting totally normal. Playing, eating like normal, running around as if all is well.

I was just wondering if this seems familiar to any other owner whos cat was effected by this horrible disease, or whether it's something else?? I heard cats can live for a little while after first showing symptoms, but I have no idea whether they come and go like this, or whether they stay consistent in cats FIP positive?

Any thoughts?
