Hey everyone, I'm a new member here just wanted to post about my cat and see what people suggest to do. About a month ago my 12 year old female cat started to have breathing problems and watery eyes. My mother took her to 2 different vets and both of them said they didn't know what it was. They tried different antibiotics and steroids but they did very little. They also took XRays but they couldn't find anything. They think she could have a tumor or something stuck in her breathing passage. The vets offered to put a camera in her nose for $1500 but my mom just can't afford it right now for the cat.

The cat is getting pretty sick, she doesn't eat or drink much at all and hides under my moms bed most of the time. Her breathing is very bad sometimes as you can hear her having trouble. I don't know what to do. I think my mother has her on antibiotics right now, she seems ok, she still goes outside and eat/drinks a little. What could it be? I mean if shes really in that much pain and we can't help her I think it would be best to have her put to sleep but we don't know whats wrong with her. What do you guys think?

Well, I think it's time for another vet. She is obviously in distress.

IMO a third opinion is needed.

Many of the members here have care credit. If your vet is a member, you can apply and use it the same day. Go to www.carecredit.com. It will allow you to make payments and not shell out mega bucks all at once. It has been a lifesafer to me and my kitties. You can also apply right at the vets office.

If your vets do not belong, find one that does and you can then get the care your kitty needs.

I am keeping your kitty and you in my prayers. Please let us know how she is doing.
