I had a cell phone contract with Bell for the past 2 years, a 3 year contract. For the past 6 months, my cell phone (a Samsung Cleo) has been just constantly restarting, and for the past 2 months, wouldn't power on completely at all. So basically I have been paying for something that I couldn't use! I went into the Bell store yesterday to see what they would do for me, because I wanted to upgrade my cell and extend my contract early, but I wasn't going to keep paying for something I couldn't use if they refused to let me. The girl I spoke with said there was nothing she could do and to call the call center and speak with retention.

I go home and do so. I called and asked for retention where of course before she would transfer me, I had to explain the whole situation. Then once transferred, I had to explain everything AGAIN. The woman in retention was VERY rude and short! All I wanted was an early upgrade! I would have signed another 3 year contract, but she basically told me they would do nothing until November so I should just buy a new phone myself. I said I will do just that, from SOMEONE ELSE!
I cancelled, and I don't even care about the cancellation fee because I was talked to and treated so rudely.

Dana and I then go into the mall and go to the Koodo kiosk. Mom has a Koodo phone and loves it. Dana and I BOTH got new LG smartphones at NO cost with NO contract, completely month to month. Along with this, they had a promotion where if you open a new account, they give you a $100 Visa gift card, so Dana and I each got one! New smartphones for nothing AND $200 in Visa cards?!? Woohoo! On top of this, the guy who helped us was GREAT! He explained everything very well, answered all of our questions and gave us exactly what we were looking for, with no hassles.

So THEN, because I had a gift card that was basically free money, we went to Sears because we decided to finally buy the Keurig coffee maker we've been thinking about for awhile. Once again, Mom has one that we gave her 2 Christmas' ago and she LOVES it. We would enjoy it every time we went over. A woman who worked there was coming back from her break, stopped when she saw us looking and completely helped us out without being pushy. She shared her opinions on which were the best coffees to buy with it, the pros and cons of each model, etc. She was so friendly and just GREAT!

Soooo, all that being said, I was pretty cranky when I got off the phone with Bell, but thanks to the guy (Nich) at Koodo and the woman at Sears (Tammy), I ended up having a great night!

It's no fun when you're paying for something you can't use! I had that happen with my first Droid and it took three Droids before I got one that I could actually use. The battery in the first phone wouldn't charge. Took that one back, got the second phone and didn't even get out of the mall with it b/c I called my sister and it kept dropping calls. Third one's a charm (knock on wood) and I've been so happy with my Droid now. But I will say that Verizon worked and worked with me until we got everything straightened out.

And congrats on the Keurig! I know you're going to love it, Kailie. One of my co-worker and I bought one for work and we love experimenting with different coffees. And I have one at home, too. My favorites: Timothy's Italian Blend, Timothy's Private Blend, Timothy's Kona Blend, Nantucket Breakfast Blend, Caribou Caribou Blend, Tully's Italian Roast, Tully's French Roast, Green Mountain Vermont Country Blend, and Van Houtte Colombian Medium. I'm not much for the really bold coffees and prefer a lighter touch, I guess. I love some of the cocoa k-cups, too; they really hit the spot here at work on a cold winter's morning.

My co-worker and I go through Amazon's Friday sales sometimes to buy our coffee for work. And there are tons of good internet sites to buy coffee. I also get the Green Mountain catalog and have ordered from there....I like their interesting coffee mugs and have bought several of them for work. You're going to love it!

GREAT, thanks for the suggestions Pam!
There are only a few stores locally who sell the K-Cups so I'll probably do a lot of ordering online...that is when Canada Post goes back to work.

Good for you just cancelling that out.
So frustrating to have to be treated that way!!!!! Sounds like all worked out very well and you both have really cool new phones!! My contract is up with my current phone in a couple of months and I want to get that Smartphone too! Can't wait.

You will LOVE the Keurig coffee maker. I enjoy a different cup each morning as I post on TCS. It is fun picking out what I want each morning. I am not suppose to have caffeine, but sneak a few flavors in every so often. I sure coffee companies would make more decaf varieties available for the Keurig. Enjoy it
and your new phone

We don't have that store here, but they do sell those at Sears and a few others but of course Sears was sold out last night.
They said they go really quickly, so just to keep checking back. I'll probably just order one online.
