It was very hot here last week, one day was 31 feels like 42. It's cooled down a lot this week. Today is 24 and cloudy. We are supposed to get thunderstorms, but they have said rain and thunderstorms every day or two for a couple weeks and still nothing.

In a state of insanity :)
Right now it is 91* F and supposed to be in the triple digits before the day is over. There is a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms. We have been hearing thunder and seeing lighting but no rain so far in the afternoons. The plants and flowers desperatly need some rain here but I dont see it happening. so you got any rain send it our way. Please

Its warmed up to 65F today! With several days of rain coming.

We had three abnormally hot days earlier this month (low 90's). I couldn't stand it!

An interesting factoid about rain and drought the longer one goes without rain and also low humidity its harder for that area to attract additional moisture. One needs a humid air mass for a few days to bring moisture into an area do have a chance of getting precipitation.

Or failing that, access to Cherokee to do a rain dance for you.

Not to mention the fact that you never have to worry about your car windows freezing up and you can't roll them down when you're trying to go thru the drive-thru bank or Burger King or whatever.
You also don't have to warm your car up for at least 10 minutes before driving it (if you can even get it started, that is!
), and there's no need to take all that extra time getting bundled up before heading out the door.

Yeah, it's hot here, all right.
But being a Wisconsin girl, I'll take that any ole day over all that snow & cold!

Heated seats take the chill out of any vehicle. I never warm mine up when its cold (cold is below 10F!)-waste of gas!

Enjoying the mid-60's and rainy temps today!

I don't like snow and cold, but I wouldn't live further south than say southern Indiana for anything. I like green. I like rain. I like 4 seasons.

I've never had snow tires. My cars last and look great for 12 or more years. My car is in a garage at night, so it gets going in a minute or two on the worst of winter mornings. I've never had a frozen window or door. Shoveling snow is a bore. But it's only a few days, and I hire help. I've never used a sprinkler on the lawn. Don't need to. I enjoy raking leaves, and it takes a total of 2-3 hours each fall. I hate motorcycles.

I'm glad you peiple living with the heat of the south think it's worth it. But I'm sitting comfortably in my living rom with the windows open and a couple fans going. I've been spending wonderful hours outside every day, and it is bliss. There will be days and days of the house being closed up like a tomb because it is so hot out. But not yet!

No thank you! One of the things I really enjoy about Germany is the lower temperatures in summer. We might get a couple of days in the mid-30s (90s), which are no fun without air conditioning, but for the most part the mid-80s are considered "hot".

Ya'll should come out here to California.
It was 106* as of 5pm. Coupled with the dreaded hot flashes I have been having, it is so miserable! At least I am not in Palm Springs, CA where it is 113*

The weather forecast is for cooler temps, about 99*

But at least it's a dry heat, isn't it? (or are you on the Colorado River? Sorry, it's been awhile since I've been in Bullhead City)

Humidity is what really makes the high heat take it's toll (I feel for you Texans...when I lived there it was VERY humid). Here in the Phoenix area, it's just about bone dry, so the high temps aren't so bad (115 yesterday, I think)
But we're technically in the "monsoon season", so the humidity should be creeping up any day now,, and maybe, hopefully, we'll actually get some rain
. It's a double edged sword...we want rain, but don't really want that awful humidity that accompanies it for weeks on end. Oh well, can't have one without the other.

But, hey, no place is perfect...except maybe Hawaii!

Yes, right on the Colorado, but normal humidity is usually 18% to 25% so pretty low.
Monsoon season (end of July through middle of September) is a different animal altogether.

Currently 57F. I have all the windows shut and am on the sofa with a down throw on my legs and wearing a sweatshirt!

Love those temps! I'd still recommend warming up your car. It's not for your comfort, it's for your vehicle's!

Sorry for the multiple posts on this one, lol - saw a lot of stuff I wanted to respond to.

I live in central Virginia. It's hot 7 months a year (April-October although the nights in those two months specifically are still nice)... which is better than lot of places in the south!

I am moving when I hit a savings goal. My first choice is Vermont.
Second is Seattle.
If it never got over 80 degrees ever again, I would be happy!

We actually finally got several days of rain. But it was a warm rain, so I just tossed off the shirt, got my swimtrunks, and washed the cars and the bike. No rinsing or drying necessary, and no waterspots!

Now that the rains are almost over though, temps are back into the high 90s as a peak.
