I went in to check on Tiger this morning and I noticed that his litter box hadn't been touched since I cleaned it yesterday.

I had told my husband not to vacuum in there as Tiger didn't need the stress, but he did.

And now, Tiger is nowhere to be seen.

I've searched that room high and low, but there's no sign of him. I wonder if somehow he bolted when the vacuum was running.

I don't know where he would hide in the house with the other pets, he doesn't like them at all.

I'm really worried as I have to leave for work soon and I have no idea where to find him.

I need good vibes right now and all the prayers that I can get that he hasn't somehow escaped or isn't lying dead somewhere in the house.

In my panic, I searched the entire house where he would have had access.

I started on the main floor, checking every place he could possibly hide. When I didn't find him up here, I moved to the basement.

The basement only has a couple of places for him to hide, so it wasn't going to take long to determine if he was down there.

I figured that he couldn't have gotten outside as someone would have noticed him flying out in front of them.

I found him under the laundry room sink. He moved behind the washer, and my roommate flushed him out of there and into a waiting carrier.

Once in the carrier, he was subdued.

I brought him back to his room, put food out for him and am leaving him alone to calm down.

Pretty scary ordeal but I think he'll recover.

THANK GOODNESS!!!!! I know how panicked-stricken you were!!! Poor Tiger--poor you!!! I'm sending prayers and vibes even though you found him.
Hoping he calms down and stays safe and sound

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been there and let me tell you it is a super-duper freak out!!!!
So glad you found Tiger
, poor little guy must have been so scared. But... I am sure he is glad to be back in the safety of his room
. I had lost a foster in my house once too who seemingly just disappeared. Poof!! She WAS in her room and she had a vet appt. scheduled in a half-hour and I couldn't find her ANYWHERE. Looked high and low, couldn't figure out how she could have gotten out of that room
. After an hour of searching high and low for her. I went into the foster room and sat on the bed and cried
. Well, little miss comes out from behind the TV in the entertainment cabinet that is in that room!!!!!!!!!!!!! She looks at me as to say, "What is the problem, I was here the whole time". She never got behind that TV before and I swear she knew somehow that a vet appt. was in the air
. It is surprising how quickly they can find a spot to hide and hunker down.

I am very relieved that he's safe. I never imagined him bolting like that. And I hope he never does it again.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Oh wow do we know that fear. We were moving, and had two movers helping us pack a truck. Someone left the door to the garage open - AND the garage door was open. All of our kitties are feral rescues, so they were all in hiding because of the strangers in the house. Of course I FREAKED OUT. Immediately went on the hunt to make sure all six cats were still in the house. We could NOT find Tuxedo ANYWHERE. Talk about a heart attack. It was not a big house - and did not have that many hiding places (or so we thought). When we were convinced he was not inside, we started searching outside. When it got dark, we headed in, completely beside ourselves. I went to close the curtains on the window - and there he was: sitting on the window sill - that is like 2" wide (at MOST) - behind the curtain, on that teeney little piece of sill that goes past the window frame?

I remember stepping back to look at it again - and I still couldn't figure out how he was sitting there - a) how he fit there, and b) how we couldn't see him sticking out where the loop thingy holds the curtain.

When they want to hide - they're good at it.

SO glad this has a happy ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
