Adopted him yesterday afternoon and he's already settling in. <3 He's 8 years old and he does have a minor medical condition: he's completely toothless! The shelter named him Connery but I am seriously considering renaming him Toothless lol.

Aww, what a handsome boy. He's taken over your shoes already! My little black kitty is toothless too, but you'd never know it until you catch her yawning. Congratulations, it looks like smooth sailing!

Thanks. He really is a sweetie. Already he follows me from room to room and loves to sit on my lap. I woke up with him curled up next to me this morning.

Aww, what a sweetie! So good of you to adopt an older cat too. I'm glad he's settling in already. Keep us updated with more pics of your handsome guy!!!

I will--if I can get him to stand still long enough to take a picture lol. He gets so excited that he literally just starts running in a circle, purring super loud and waving his tail. He's talking a bit too, even greeted me with a meow at the door when I got home from work this evening.

It feels so good to have a cat again. It's been nearly two years since my Chaos passed and even though I've had cats in the house the entire time, non of them have been mine. It's just not the same level of attachment. I swear I almost cried when he came running to greet me at the door. My house finally feels like home again.

Congratulations on your new kitty soul mate! He is precious! He deserves a more loving name then toothless, and I'm sure a new name will come to you......

Thank you for adopting this cat, for 3 reasons:

1. Older cat.
2. Black cat.
3. Special needs cat.

You have almost certainly saved a life!

You may have seen that we just fostered an older, toothless cat who we got going good and took her back to the shelter to be available for adoption. She almost starved to death before we realized what her problem is.

I know, I had planned on adopting an older cat either way because I know they have a hard time finding homes. I still don't understand why exactly people don't like black cats but then, half of the cats we've had have been black or black and white. I guess I'm colorblind as far as that goes. XD We've always adopted based on personality, not looks. He's not entirely black, you can't see it in the picture but he has a small white spot on his chest and a white dot on each of his feet.

I think we're going to end up calling him Connor, actually. It's fairly close to his previous name, just not as awkward to say as a first name. His nickname will of course be the Toothless Wonder, as the shelter volunteers called him lol.
