Pregnant cat with discharge for 7 days

Hello,

New here and I have a question, if someone has experience with this. Our cat, when she went in to get spayed, was found to be pregnant. Xray showed one kitten, estimated due date of 6/15. She is a small cat. For the past seven days she has had a tiny amount of red/pink discharge, tummy has dropped, no other labor signs, all else well. Vet visit today showed good kitten heartbeat, but vet was puzzled by length of discharge prior to birth. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have additional information, so my question has changed slightly. My vet cultured the discharge, there were some white blood cells so she suspects some type of infection and has prescribed clovamox. Anyone had something like this with a positive outcome? Fetus was viable as of this morning, she is due any day now.

I just wanted to follow up my post, my cat ended up with a c section last night and spay. The kitten did not make it, although viable until birth. Just to recap, if anyone has this type of experience, Lucy had some pinkish/mucousy discharge off and on for a week. No signs of active labor or discomfort, no odor to the discharge. Her temp never dropped. Apparently the discharge was coming from the sac around the kitten, so I would encourage anyone if in doubt, call your vet. Be proactive, I understand that 99% of the time, labor supposedly goes smoothly for cats, but I would encourage you to at least ask. It can't hurt.

I have a pregnant Himalayan cat with the same situation. From the 4th-fifth week of her pregnancy she started to have some creamy discharges (no-odor). I took her to the vet, the vet told me that she has one baby in her stomach (no x-ray, by exam). she guessed that the baby might be dead, that's why she's having the discharge and asked me to go home to see if she can give birth. the vet also took the blood test and everything was fine with the blood test. Well, vet asked me to give her antibiotics, and  she was sure there is a baby in her stomach.

Well, more than three weeks passed from the time i took her to the vet. she's doing completely fine, eats, plays, drinks, and her stomach is swollen. she still has discharges and the color changed to some sort of pinkish cream-like (still no-odor) discharge.  I was not sure if these discharges are normal during the pregnancy or if it is Pyometra.  She shows no sign of pain, fever, or anything.  I will definitely spay her after her giving birth (hopefully),

I would be very thankful if you share your experience with mem because her discharges has no odor and are pinkish cream-like  and she acts as pregnant (i.e. sleeps a lot, eats a lot, etc.). Did the vet told you this is urgent and she cannot give birth in this situation to the baby?

I know plenty of breeders who avoid a mating which will result in Xmas / New Year delivery, as it will be so expensive if they need the out of hours service.

If you know the date she mated then you can work out when she is due.  65-66 days is normal, if she reaches 70 days you need to contact your vet.  There are plenty of on-line cat pregnancy calculators you can find via Google.
