My kitten Rambo is about 6 months old and she randomly started playing fetch when I threw paper balls for her. That's her favourite toy by far..... but yeah, she will 9/10 times bring the paper ball back to me in her mouth. Very cute!

check it out

My youngest, Jade, plays fetch as does one of her sisters.
Jade insists on playing fetch only with her catnip buddy from Auntie Em's Creations.
Her sister, Riki, only fetches plastic forks.

None of the cats I have now play fetch. But I did have a black, male DSH, Oliver, who played fetch. I didn't train him to do it, he trained me.

It was very fun. I'm envious.

Cute!!!

My 8 month old boy Spencer loves to play fetch! He has a furry ball with feathers and rattles. It's his favourite toy. He always brings that to me for me to throw for him. And he always brings it right back to me to throw again. But because it rattles, I can't fake him out. He knows when I've faked a throw!!!
I just finished playing fetch with him.

Very cute! Holland plays fetch, but only with her little fuzzy mice. I throw it for her and she chases it, of course she normally walks by me with a sidelong glance, plops just out of reach and THEN drops the mouse...
I didn't teach her, one day she just started bringing it to me. Watching her trot back to me with it in her mouth with the proudest look on her face is so fun!

I had a cat many years ago who taught me how to fetch. Now I'm teaching Turtle. Her favorite toy is any wadded up piece of paper (you'd think her mama didn't buy her any nice toys). I'll throw it, she'll run after it, carry it around in her mouth for awhile then brings it halfway back to me. I think it will be a done deal in a couple weeks. Then we can burn off some of that endless energy she has...I REALLY look forward to that!!!

used to bring "mr. ball" back, and drop it right into my hands. Luna and Midnight will bring their toys back, and drop them at my feet

HAHA! My cat too! Isn't it amazing how little cats need to be amused? I have a basket of toys (as his "grandma" brings one over every time she visits) but Dr. Claw is perfectly content with bottle caps and socks! His favorite toy to fetch with, though, is a feather duster! HAHA! It cracks me up! I cannot even describe how cute he looks with this huge feather duster in his teeny tiny mouth and his little paws pitter-pattering towards me.

In fact, I think I'm going to post a video on his site to share with everyone. It is not on there yet as of the time of this posting (6/13/11) but check back later if you are still interested in seeing it. I'll try to follow up with another thread post when it is up.

Members are reminded to review rule #5:

5. Solicitations – TheCatSite.com does not encourage or promote solicitation of money from our members. We will help in every way possible with our knowledge and support, but as many of us have multi-cat households and work with local rescue groups, monetary support is not always possible to causes or people we do not personally know. Members are allowed one posting in the SOS forum for each organization. Repeated postings for the same cause or organization will be deleted.

The needs of rescue workers are great and we recognize this fact. To care for multiple cats, find suitable homes, good vet care, food, etc. is costly. From time to time you will see some posts come up to ask for donations for a cause. It is YOUR responsibility to check out these solicitors to the best of your ability. More often, you will see pleas from individuals asking for money to be sent directly to them to assist with veterinary bills. Some come up with slick websites, others just have heartwrenching stories. In each of these cases, the poster is allowed ONE thread, to be placed in Cats SOS.

In either case, if you feel compelled to donate money ask for references, phone numbers, call around the area and find out if this is a legitimate cause or a scam. For personal pleas, get the veterinarianâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s contact information and send money directly to the veterinarian to help with bills for that particular cat. If that information is not available, you have the answer if the plea is legitimate or a scam.

Be very careful before you send any money: no matter how effective the plea is, check it out first before opening your wallet.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean any harm. Please ignore the link. I have posted 3 other thread replies with links in them, but didn't mean to cause trouble.

I didn't mean to break any rules. I do have a sponsorship site for my cat, but it also serves as a photo gallery, a silly blog, and a number of other purposes. I'm new to this forum, and really didn't mean any harm. The site is truly only meant for people who take an interest and, if they decide "why not" I figured it'd be a good way to collect a little extra money for him. But I don't want to do anything unethical...and didn't realize I was.

If I stop providing links to my cats site, can I still participate in this community? Also, should I delete the other posts that have links? There are 2 more (one where I linked to his photo gallery, and another where I linked to my site as a reference for funding the care of a rescue animal via ad revenue on a website to offset the costs and, hopefully, get more cats into good homes).

I'm a media nerd and a firm believer in the power of technology and the internet to change the world...but if my tactics are like that of a spammer or solicitor, then I have defeated my own purpose and I apologize. I will post this private message for everyone else to see because I'd sincerely like to apologize to you all.
