Is it still light or dark at that time where you live?

I took these pictures last night at nearly 10.p.m and it was still light here in the UK. The date and time is at the bottom right hand corner

I recall finding that strangely disconcerting when I visited Scotland. combined with Jetlag, even worse.

Don't worry, it only happens in the summer

I think around 9pm is when it finally starts getting dark here. I'd probably have a hard time sleeping if it were still light out at 10-something

I've got blinds and curtains in the bedrooms, and the curtains are lined so that solves the problem

Wow!! That's really light! Usually the sun is completely down between 9-9:30PM here.

It's usually fairly dark here by 10, even in the summer.

By the end of June, we'll already be losing daylight minutes. It's depressing.

And do you know what's lovely about the light nights?. It's so quiet, but you can still hear the birds tweeting, so that's why l love sitting in the conservatory until after midnight on a weekend They were still tweeting at 10.45 last night even though it was a lot darker.

There seems to be about half an hour less daylight here, meaning dusk is around 9:30 - 10:00 p.m. right now.

Sunset tonight in Colorado is at 8:29 p.m. and it's definitely fully dark by 9:00.

I rationally know that the further north you are the longer/shorter days are in the summer/winter, and I rationally know that the UK is right up north...but somehow I never put it together that nights would be quite that short in the summer!

What are the daylight hours like in mid-winter?

Oh my,do you know what I never even noticed Its raining here now so its quite dull anyway.x

It's light later here, but not that light at 10pm.

Well, here in the land of the midnight sun we do have this problem during summer that the sun won't go down at all at some point (which will be in approx. 2 weeks) and before and after that period it just sets for a while and rises very quickly.
It's 4am atm and sunny. I can try to remember to take a pic tomorrow if I'm at home around 10pm.

Oh I remember that from my summers in Scotland, so light late at night! I've never experienced the actual white nights of the northern countries though and have always wanted to, maybe one day. I think it stays pretty light late in New Zealand in summer, but I can't give you a specific time. Here in Ontario it's dark by around 9pm these days. I love the long evenings of summer; best part of the year!

It's 10:08 pm here in NYC and it is definitely dark out.................but we do have sunrise by 5am, and with this comes Maia rise, Maia wanting to be fed, and Cheyenne wanting to sleep 2 more hours!

Took a few pics.
This was my 'front yard' through a kitchen window around 9.30pm, a bit blurry because of the window..

And this is an hour later, around 10.30pm through the same window

The sun sets on the back side of the house, so I took one pic from my balcony which is in the back (same time, 10.30pm)

*eta* It's now 3.30am and the sun is rising.

That's exactly what I was about to ask; and I was also wondering what time does the sun rise in the UK during the summer months?

Where I live dusk is about 9:30 p.m. By 4:30 a.m. it's just starting to get a little light outside. By then the birds are chirping and flying around and Sweetie is sitting in the window watching them.
