Weird behavior at night

We have two cats and one of them is a male named Fred. He is an awesome Siamese mix and could be pure bred. We got Him and His sister as orphan kittens from the Humane Society so we don't know for sure.

He is normally a great cat, one of the best I've ever had, but He has this one weird behavior. At night when I go downstairs and everyone else has gone to bed you will hear this mournful meow then when you go upstairs you will see that He has dragged a blanket(or pillow) in His mouth to another location. He is meowing mournfully with it in His mouth and He is treading on it. It's almost like He's sucking on the blanket. If I just give Him a little attention He will stop and is fine for the rest of the night. He does this intermittently about 4-5 times a week. He is about 10 years old and has done this every since He was a juvenile. Other then being an attention hog, His sister is fine and does not do this.

I know that Siamese are more vocal than other cats. The kneading and the sucking are not unusual. One of mine does it whenever he gets on my lap or during cuddling. Some cats who have been separated from their mom too soon continue the habit until adulthood.
