It's almost time to leave on vacation. I'm leaving a week from today for a trip to Canada. Part of me is really looking forward to it, but I hate to be away from Max that long. I don't really sleep well without him (he purrs me to sleep) and I dream about somebody trying to steal him when I'm away. I love him with all my heart, but why anyone would want to steal my cute little tabby is beyond me. lol

I know I don't have to worry about him, because my friend Robyn will take care of him while I'm gone. Max really likes her and visa versa.

I'm looking forward to seeing how my car handles on a road trip and what kind of gas mileage I'll get with it. I love to drive!

Yay! I love vacations.. I'm going to the beach on the 25th, and I'm terrified about leaving roxy even if it's only for 4 days, but the beach is calling!!

Hope you have fun

Thanks Ericka and Anna! I hope you have a good time too Anna. It is fun to get away, but it is hard to leave the fur baby. The upside is that I get to spend 10 days with my best friend in the whole world. She lives 400 miles from me and I don't get to see her very often. We are taking her 7 year old daughter (my goddaughter) with us and leaving her husband behind to take care of their 17 yr old Siamese, Tia-fi.

What part of Canada are you coming to? Will you be in my neck of the woods (Toronto?) Where ever you go hope you have a great holiday. I am sure that your furbaby will be fine.

Curiousity gets me here - which part of Toronto are you in? I have family on the lake shore in Ontario, dad is in Ajax, up from Toronto. My aunt is in missasaugua and have more familly in Oshawa (cant take that place). I have been to Toronto many times and have a loved the place. Pearson is one big airport ! I also think that your health system is great as i used it on my honeymoon. Flew 8 hours, had a great week, met familly, collapsed with appendicitis!! I have the scar to show for it as well as the experience of Ajax and Pickering hospital! If anyone in the UK is gonna get something wrong with them on honeymoopn, it would be me!
I may come over for a few days next year but unsure. I like the US and have a stack of flying mates to meet!

oh ya and check ur tire pressure too! I checked mine the other day and they were like 15 pounds under what they should have been which is probably why I was getting such poor gas mileage..

The car is brand new - has only 100 miles on it, so I don't think I'll have any problems. I also have roadside service if there is a problem.

Ady, I'm going to Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is not too far from Toronto. We have tickets to the Shaw Festival. We are staying is a B&B called Ashgrove Cottage www.ashgrovebb.com if anyone wants to take a look. The B&B has three bedrooms and we are taking two of them. I can't wait!

Hey I've been there! I love Niagra falls!

I was just being funny about checking the oil because my car is pretty new and the darn engine blew up when I went on a trip! Did they tell you anything like don't go faster then 60 until xxxxx amount of miles are on the car? I don't know if they still do that with new cars or not. If they do,I'll have to break my car in all over again when I get it back with the new engine in it!

I got my car new a year ago and they did not tell me the whole speed restriction thing but I followed it anyhow. I didn't break 55 for the first 500 miles. Then my friend (who just got a car about a week ago) told me he has to go under 60 for the first 1000 miles or something. He and I BOTH had tire problems within the first 500 miles lol, so tires aren't really a certainty just because the car is new.. I have triple A and roadside thru dodge but still I'd rather check first than wait an hour or so for service..

But in any case, you're gonna have a great time
