I have a 15 yr old calico who is very deaf. We've been trying to figure out ways to get her attention without startling her (like softly blowing on her fur if she's sleeping, or touching the couch first before petting her). I discovered that while she can't hear talking voices worth beans, she CAN hear a dog whistle. So yesterday, whenever I fed her I used the doggie whistle. Well everytime I blew the whistle the dog next door would make a quiet little woof . . whistle. . .woof. .whistle. . .woof. . .heehee it was funny. . .
