Katie is persistent! It's been taking some time (5 months), but she's slowly getting Abby to accept her.

I occasionally see them playing. At least I think they're playing. There is no howling or screaming, but lots of head bops from both sides while on the cat tree.

Also when Abby is drinking from the bowl of water in the bathroom, Katie lays down and kind of wiggles her way up to play with Abby's tail, or paw around the edge of the bowl.

The last couple of days I've noticed both Abby and Katie sleeping on the dining room table. They aren't cuddling, but they are a few inches apart. That's the closest I've seen them get.

Right now they're chasing each other around the apartment. Abby chased Katie into the bedroom and just now came out from the bedroom with Katie running behind her. I guess Abby had enough though. She growled and jumped up on the couch, the tree and finally the table and is now sitting at the edge of it looking down at Katie.

Spence still has a ways to go. Abby sniffs him and occasionally will give him a lick on the head, but that's about it. I swear she's tasting him to see if he needs more seasoning!

Almost. They came home on January 22, 2011. The vet figures they were born around September 18, 2010.

I seriously need to take more pictures of them. They're getting so big! A bit easier to tell them apart now, but not from a distance. Spencer is larger, lighter in colour, his fur is a bit more coarse, his tail not as thick as Katie's, he has a more angular face and he does not have the black lynx-like fur tips on his ears like Katie does. Plus he loves belly rubs, where as Katie is a more active cuddler always on the move instead of just laying there falling asleep. Plus their meows are so different. Katie is almost a squeak, where Spencer tends to growl in his throat.

I'm sorry about not having posted pictures! I really have no excuse other than "laziness". I'll get some new ones this weekend and also post some of the ones I've been collecting since they got here.

They're getting so big! Spencer is definitely going to be a big boy! And Katie just went through a serious growth spurt.

NEW PICTURES PLEASE!!!
I've been taking some pictures today. I got a couple of Katie on the table with Abby, and some of the kittens playing. Not exactly action shots because I just can't co-ordinate that. I'll have to look up how to change the settings so that there is no delay between the press of the button and the actual picture. I find that by the time the picture is snapped, the cat has moved out of the camera view and I get a nice picture of the floor

Ah ha!! I thought it was Katie sneaking up to lay next to Abby, but in fact it's Abby that goes and lays next to Katie!! Of course the table was Abby's spot first, so she is continuing to lay there but allowing Katie to as well.

Still no actual physical touching. Katie tried to get more snuggled earlier today by curling up and she touched Abby's hip with the upper part of her body and head. Abby turned her head and gave a soft hiss and stared at Katie. Katie moved back into her original stretched out position. Then both settled in for a nap.
