I was talking with a co-worker yesterday about pets and she asked if I have dogs. I said no, I have a cat and she asked me "Do you want another one"? Turns out she has a canary, a dog and a cat and it's not working out. She said the canary was there first and the cat was part of the dog deal. She's a really sweet lady but it just broke my heart. She went on about how much she loves him and hates to have to re-home him but the situation just isn't working.

Well, as much as I DO want another cat, if I brought one home now my mom would kill me. I told my co-worker that due to my living situation I probably wouldn't be able to take him for at least a couple of months, but that I would think about it. I'm actually glad I can't make a hasty decision. I need to find a cat that would fit well with Holland if possible, but just look at this guy (Poppy Cat):

He's indoor/outdoor right now, though if I ever took him he'd be strictly indoor. As much as I hear people on this site go on about red boys I am just in love with him already...

I can't see the picture.

Take my word for it, living with the parental units, don't bring him home until you're on your own. Otherwise you'll never hear the end of it.

Oh my gosh he's GORGEOUS!!!

I'd have trouble saying no too!! I have one orange boy at my parents that I just love. He's a cuddle bug (to the point of being annoying) and as a kitten he was.... there just aren't words for how cute/sweet he was....

Ok so I'm no help.... I can't stop
... I want him too...

That's what my co-worker said about Poppy, that's he's really cuddly and likes to be carried over your shoulder.
I have to stop looking at his picture, it's torture!!!

I plan on being out of my mom's house by the end of the summer. Most apartments around here that allow cats allow two. We'll see what happens!

Good luck! I know you've been waiting for the right time to get your own place, and that you've been wanting another cat too. He looks sweet and I hope he finds a great home either way!

What a beautiful cat! Will she hold on to him for you until you can take him?

Hehe... so does Pumpkin, my orange tabby.
Something about orange cats and shoulders!

I hope you're able to find a place so you can give that sweetheart a happier home!

Ohhh my gosh what a handsome boy
Peanut is also a shoulder-draper. I wonder if it really is something about the red coat?

Aww, what a cutie!
I hope something works out for him, whether it's with you or another cat lover..

(Dorothy, also a redhead, doesn't do shoulders. or much other holding, for that matter! So maybe it's a red BOY thing.

I think she would. I don't know how long she's had him for, but I made it perfectly clear that it would be at least a couple of months before I could take him. She seemed fine with that.

Of course, then I wonder how hard it would be on Holland to move and then introduce another cat. And she so loves being an only cat, I'm always worried about how she'll do with another cat to begin with.

I'm trying not to think about all this too much right now, it's driving me crazy! I also have to stop looking at that picture... I fall a little more in love with him every time I do...

Nope! Elliott can't STAND to be held at all and although he is affectionate, he is NOT cuddly. Osiris on the other hand is about as cuddly as they get. You could do anything to this cat and he'd still purr away.
LP is a cuddler but only likes to be held on his terms. So all kitties are different.
That being said, I LOVE ORANGE KITTIES!
Always had a thing for them.

Poppy is PRECIOUS hun!
Here's hoping!

Oh my dear sweet lord, but that cat is gorgeous! His orange and Holland's black? Wow! I really hope you can work something out. I'd love to have him, too!
