I miss my Spuddy

I haven't posted about this because I've had a hard time dealing with it. I still feel like pushing it back but that's not healthy, I guess. I feel like it's dis-respectful to Spud, mostly...alot...to not address his passing. It's not because I didn't love him like a child. It's just been so hard. I miss him daily, but I also get comfort in *feeling* him next to me at night. I swear I can feel him walking on the bed to lay by me sometimes. I know I've heard him purr. He slept with me almost every night of his 16 1/2 years. He went camping with us and to the beach house with us, so it was rare that Spud and I spent a night away from each other. If I had to spend the night away from him...I would call the home phone and talk to him through the answering machine.
So RIP my darling Spuddy...the cat that changed my life. I will never forget you or stop loving or missing you. April 26 is the day that you left me in body...but you will never leave my heart.

My condolences - I'm so sorry to hear that Spud has passed. Of course you're grieving for your longtime companion, even though he's making his presence felt. RIP, Spud.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and my thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
R.I.P. Spud, it sounds like you were a very sweet little boy.

Spud was a very special cat to you, and I am sorry you lost him and are missing him. Even though we know that our loved pets are nearing the end of life, it is not any easier to take, not at all. I hope you find comfort in his memory and spirit in your heart.

RIP Sweet Spud you are missed

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how you feel: I still miss my precious Maverick horribly, and it's been almost a year & 1/2 since I lost him. He was my soul-mate kitty and life isn't the same without him.

I'm sorry for your loss. Spuddy sounds like he as your soulmate. He will always be with you. You feel him in bed at night because he returns to comfort you. I just really believe in this. He was very lucky to have you for 16 years. He'll never leave you.

Yes! Spud was my soulmate!! I went through some rough times in the past, but I always had Spud to turn to for comfort, and I always made sure he was by my side...even when I had a hard time finding a place to live that accepted pets. If Spud wasn't welcome, than I wasn't either. Whenever I put that out to a landlord, they always caved in. Spuddy never failed me...he was there 24/7.

I've been shopping for cremation jewelry today. I need to do that for Spudster....but I just can't seem to find just the "right" piece. I did decide on his urn, it's beautiful. I just can't put him there until I purchase the necklace that I want. I think I have found it but it seems like such a final step that I, for some reason, seem to be unwilling to make. ARRRGHH!!!
