Cat Lady Goes to Tax Court - and WINS!!

A woman was doing what so many here do...they care for ferals and strays at her own expense. In 2004 she started claiming her expenses as charitable expenses/donations. The IRS refused her claims when she got audited. But a Judge overturned the IRS!

I think so too! She worked for charities and continued the cause at her home. It's not like she was just feeding strays. She was aiding shelters by picking up the medical tabs as well as caring for them outside of the shelter. Even if she wasn't directed to by any of the actual shelters she worked for, she was doing them a huge service by picking up the tab and keeping space available.
