I have always wanted an African Grey parrot
. I just think they are so beautiful and intelligent. Maybe someday
But they live so many years about fifty (I
) and would probably outlive me and my DH at this point.

I would like a dog, since I haven't had one since I was a small child and I have always lived in apartment buildings that don't allow them I have always wanted one. I would like to have a furry friend with me when I go for my walks or runs when I come home from work. I often ask Maggie if she would like to come with me but she just turns her head away
.

I always thought that when I retired I would like to have a dog again (having grown up with them). But over the years I've enjoyed other people's dogs (and in some cases NOT enjoyed them), and have become even more aware of the amount of work involved in keeping a dog -- properly -- so I have no desire any more. I don't know if I really am interested in keeping another type of animal -- maybe a rabbit, but even they have their challenges, so I think probably not.

I laughed out loud! I have at times considered adopting a cute, friendly boyfriend, but they're so time-consuming. Behavioral training is nearly impossible as well.

(Totally in jest... of course...
)

Hmm, I'm not really anything but a cat person. I love horses - LOVE them - but would not choose to own one because I don't have the inclination to invest the time and money it takes to truly care for them.

I like other people's dogs - play with 'em then send 'em away!

So, no - just cats for me.

I admire some of the big tropical birds, but would never own one unless I lived in a tropical place where they could spend some time in an outdoor enclosure in comfort. And I would have to have extra cash to spoil them and give them everything a bird could ever want to stay happy and busy.

When I Googled "Siberian Shepherd", all that came up was a Husky/GSD mix. . .and they're pretty common in shelters! So chances are good you could find one.

I would like a Bearded Dragon. They need huge enclosures, though, and I can't right now. Hmph.

If I could have any pet I would want to raise some Falabella horses! They are so adorable! Could you see me walking down the street with them on leashes while all of the dog walkers gawk?

Hubby and I have always wanted a skunk, alas, we are stuck in a state that confiscates and euthanizes on sight.

I have never understood the laws against owning them in so many states, there is no real, rational reason for them.
Like ferrets, these are not wild skunks, these are farm bred, throwbacks from when fur was still in fashion.
I'd much rather care for one than wear one, their fur looks better on them anyway.

Oooh, yes, I want a skunk, too! I haven't looked into the laws yet but I do want one someday.

My husband had a skunk when he was growing up...for a while anyway, until he got stolen from his outdoor pen. He wasn't farm raised; someone hit the mommy with his car and realized the babies were on the side of the road. His dad worked for the state police at the time, so he got one of the babies de-stinked and brought him home. He was an indoor/outdoor skunk and got along great with their cats! lol. And his name was...you guessed it...Stinky!

A dolphin would be awesome! But you would probably need two. Dolphins aren't happy by themselves, even with a human companion.

Before I die I WILL own a horse!!! We have the land for it, and the barn for it. Now, we just need the MONEY for it.
