We got the call a few hours ago. She had lung cancer. It was total shock, as her prognosis was quite good, and she had started chemotherapy 2 weeks ago. She went into the hospital Friday. We didn't know until this morning, as usual, nobody told me. (My family AGAIN.)
Thank you for listening. I really appreciate it.

You're probably feeling pretty numb right now and will go through the whole gamut of emotions for the next several months. Time will ease the pain, but it never seems that way when your loss is so fresh, and there will always be times when you'll miss her.
I know exactly how you feel and there is nothing I can say that will ease the pain except that as time passes the days will get better, but the loss will always be felt. Just try to take one day at a time without overwhelming yourself with a plethora of emotions.
