Is your kitty a voyeur? o_o

I'm a big fan of baths - the long, two-hour, with-a-book variety - and indulge frequently. The kittens love to sit on the ledge or occasionally on a body part that's sticking out of the water! Lately they've also taken to sitting on the ledge during a shower when the curtain is closed, or even poking their heads around it - naughty kitties!

I don't let them get in the water because I don't want them to get chilled - I keep the house pretty cool; but I think it's fun how they are not frightened at all, even of the thunderous faucet when it's running my bath. One of these days they might end up going swimming if I'm not quick enough!

Does your cat enjoy sharing bath/shower time with you??

Trout has in the past sat right on the edge of the tub...but she doesn't do it much in her old age

When I lived alone with Callie, she used to sit on the ledge between the shower curtain and liner every morning when I showered. She would sing with me, too! As she got older and we moved to a house, she would just lay on the rug in the bathroom while I showered. I so miss her!!

Hannah waits for me to open the shower curtain when I finish my morning shower. She then jumps in and starts licking the water off the tub. I always make sure to rinse the curtain, walls, and tub well before I finish my shower. Does she have me trained or what?

Stephanie - mine do the same! About the licking I mean. The way the water is treated must taste good. I try to discourage them, though - I fill their bowls with bottled water as I certainly don't drink my tap water and won't let them, either! I grew up with well water, and city water just isn't the same. I can smell the chlorine. Yuck!

Just got out of my bath - check out the reason behind this post -

Peanut is! He'll sit down right on the mat outside the shower- I have a glass door shower stall, the tub is separate- and watch my every move. He'll sometimes raise up on his back paws to paw at the door. He won't ever come in, but he sure acts like he wants me to get out faster!

Aya liked to watch me bathe, after setting off the kitty alarm. "Mew! Mew!" I think she was trying to say "OMG, what are you doing stewing yourself in a pot of hot water!"

My foster kitty Cuddles also likes to observe the bathing.

Let's just put it this way!

I live alone and haven't had a moment of privacy in all of the years that I've had cats! I poop, they;re in there doing the same or just watching me. I shower, they watch!

Cindy sits on the edge of the tub when DH is taking his bath. They both like to watch running water.

This is so funny! When I come home from work and have to take a shower right away, Maia meows and howls till I let her in with me, then jumps up on the sink so she can watch my shadow as I occasionally peek out and give her kisses!

We have a bunch of voyeurs, I guess.

Or, more accurately, probably petting opportunists. Ella waits until she hears the shower door close twice, then comes in the bathroom for attention while we dry off. Flambe comes in when he hears the shower quit running; he wants to chase hands behind the glass.

Punkin comes in and gets on the divider between the tub and shower, begging for attention.

Sterling got on Dottie's chest the other night while she was taking a long bath and reading.

Misa hates baths so I don't think she will be interested. Same thing with my older sisters cats.

3 out of my 4 are terrible pests when I'm in the bathroom doing *anything*. If I so much as brush my teeth I have an audience and Swiffer tries to piddle with the water. She love water. I don't take many baths but sometimes I turn on the whirlpool in the tub and relax in it. They all sit on the edge watching and Swiffer does just about everything she can to play with the water. She fell in once but did not care much for actually being *in* the water. She also fell in the toilet once which I could not stop laughing about. Where is the cam when you need it?

Hannah fell into the toilet ONCE and never again! Now she's a bit more cautious when jumping up on the toilet.

Holland loves to be in the bathroom with me. I'm not a bath person, but when I shower she likes to sit on the tub between the liner and the curtain. And she's another who likes to get in the tub after I shower and lick up the water. I swear, the places that girl gets her water from you'd think that I don't leave a fresh bowl out for her every day...

Mine have no desire to be in the bathroom while I'm in the shower, but Heaven forbid if I need to use the toilet! I haven't had any privacy going potty since I don't know when!

Lynxx used to take showers with me Luna and Midnight aren't allowed in the bathroom.

Lucky used to bite my butt when I got out of the shower.

I've LOVED reading all these responses! What a weird, wild bunch we all have!

I agree, Natalie - I live alone as well and they are ALWAYS in the bathroom no matter what I'm doing!

NutroMike, a few weeks ago the boys fell into the toilet when I neglected to put the cover down. It was almost bedtime and I'd already fed them and closed my door for the evening (they don't sleep long enough to be bedkitties yet, unfortunately). They NEVER scratch or mewl to get in so when I heard the frantic howling at my door I knew something was up. At first I thought their fur was darkened with poop as this was about a week after I'd gotten them and they still had a bit of diarrhea from my switching their food too quickly. I looked through my tiny house for it and it wasn't there. Then I noticed the tracks of water in the bathroom leading away from the toilet - and the toilet seat completely covered in water - LOL!!!

Poor dears. It did stroke my ego to know they wanted Mama for some soothing! My guess is they were fighting and doing the "bounce" thing where their feet are like springs - one sprung up onto the toilet, the other followed, and oops! I've been much more careful to keep the cover down since then, but I still bitterly regret not having witnessed it

When I take my hour long bath (I too enjoy it with a good book), Monet decides to relax in the sink next to the tub. He'd curl in there and nap when I relax, lol.

I used to LOVE taking hot bubble baths...and then came Google... he eats the bubbles so I can't use them any more... tried the bath salts. He puts his whole tail in the water to let it soak... seesh! He also sits between the curtain and the liner when I shower. Joey has been getting locked in the bathroom with us because he has been stuffy. He doesn't care fore it...

There's nothing like sitting on the potty and looking down to see a pair of kitty eyes staring back at you, or during the middle of the night feel a kitty curl up against your foot.

When Banshee, our Bridge baby, was a kitten, she used to sit in the corner of the tub to watch me shower. I gave in one time and actually picked her up and brought her into the shower with me, being careful so that she didn't get a face full of water. She loved it! She never minded getting wet.

In the morning, with Mollipop, I tend to keep her out of the bathroom til I'm dried-off and have my t-shirt on. She scritches at the door and starts squeaking for me to let her in. Then when I open the door and say, "Good morning, Miss Pop!" she comes strutting through the door, walks over and hops up on the toilet, hops to the counter and then leaps into my arms. And I'd better be ready because she leaps whether I'm ready to catch her or not! Purring the whole time.

I'm in the bathtub, and Simon is actually hanging over the edge of the tub and resting his paws all the way in the water! I'm pretty sure they'll both end up loving water.
Mine have to follow me into the bathroom regardless of what I'm doing Neko cries outside the door if I keep him out. When I'm in the tub, they all crowd around and check it out. The tub is under a windowsill (privacy window) and they like to jump up there when I'm relaxing.

Nero has dunked his tail in before sitting there on the ledge of the tub, and bats at the bubbles. Nero also will join us in the shower if we let him

jericho LOVES the bath (as long as im the one in it and not him!) and as soon as i turn on the faucet he drops anything that hes doing, even wakes up, to come running and just stare at it, then when get in the shower he paws the doors (we have glass shower doors) until i open it a crack so that he can poke his head in and see me the whole time.

he didnt start this until after the night i gave him a bath, had an asthma attack, and stopped breathing and was in the hospital for a week. so i take it as him making sure im ok anytime im in there arent they great!

Only one of my three really cares for getting near the tub. My Tonkinese, Simon, will check out the tub when me or my hubby takes a bath. He lounges on the ledge, bats at the water, soaks his tail. He likes to sit between the shower curtain and liner occasionally when I shower as well.

My other Tonkinese, Lexie, won't get near the tub - she used to but now she watches from afar on the toilet when I'm in the tub. She does like to come in the bathroom with me and stay in the steamy hot room

None of them let anyone go in the bathroom alone. It's like they need to know what's going on in there. I keep telling them that there is no secrete escape tunnel but I don't' think they believe me. If Simon gets locked out he will just sit and wail until you give up and let him in.

Kitters is constantly in the bathroom with me. And recently she has taken to demanding running water for her to drink from the sink while I tinkle. She sits in there and watching my bath water run, then will leave after I'm "safely" in, but remains watch outside the door. (She doesn't seem to close the door on her way out though) She used to even sit in the tub while I let the water run up until it got to her in the back and then she'd get out. She's a goofy one just like everyone elses!
