Garrido sentenced to "431 years to life"

for kidnapping, raping and holding Jaycee Dugard captive for nearly two decades. Doesn't 431 years "to life" sound odd? His wife got 36 years.

I think the 431 years is to make sure he never gets out, even if he displays good behavior during his jail term. It's very strange that his wife got off with only 36 years. She was the partner in crime. She delivered the babies Dugard had from Garrido's rape. Why isn't she facing the same punishment?
