Morning all,

I am very, very sick... Cold, flu, whatever, but I'm pretty miserable. Last evening I had a fever and kept shivering even though it was so beautiful and warm out. The fever seems to be gone today but I am so achy, I can barely swallow, my nose is snuffy and my head is throbbing... Working from home and not moving far from the sofa today.

Morning friends!

Kailie, sending lots of get well that you'll be feeling better soon. There's nothing worse than a summer cold. Ick.

Got the yard mowed last night. DH got the pool open. The water is a beautiful shade of ....... green. Our fault for not getting it open sooner. We gave it a good shock and will vacuum tonight. Should clear up quickly.

But.....while I was mowing in the back yard, I was watching DH at the pool instead of where I was going. And I mowed right into the soaker hose that we use(d) for the garden! Slashed it with the blades and it wrapped right around the shaft. Thank goodness, it didn't harm the shaft and all I had to do was unwind the hose, remove it, and start the mower again. DH was not happy, but I told him that he should feel happy that I still watch him after 40 years. Didn't work; he still was not amused. Oh well, finished the yard and it was fine. We need another soaker hose now. (There's an old garden hose in the basement that we'll put holes into and use that one.)

LOl Winchester, that's HILARIOUS and totally something I would do!

Today is my middle son's Birthday, he is 9...wow the time is flying!
I ran to town and grabbed him a few things and then hubby and him are going shopping for his new bicycle He's going to be so excited! His Birthday party is on Friday with his friends but we'll party all day at home

That's about it here, I'm still SORE from my sun burn.....eeek!

Oh Kailie, sorry you are so sick . Hope your kitties take good care of you and keep you company on that couch today

Winchester, I think that is a riot and your hubby should be flattered

What a gorgeous morning it is in Chicago today!!! a perfect breeze, sixty-five degrees and full sun. Will get out and mow the lawn this morning (but I don't have my DH to stare at, he is at work)

It is hot in here!! +28C at the moment, hottest day of the year so far. Of course now when I had decided I have to clean today..

We have a national holiday tomorrow so maybe I'll go out with friends later this evening.

Morning, just barely.. I got a late start to the day today, I've just really been feeling less than great for a few weeks now and yesterday/last night was worse. Odd pain in my left side, and general ickiness. I guess I needed the sleep, I slept til almost 10!! Yikes!

Anyway, I am starting to try a no soy diet for a little while to see if that makes me feel any better. I hope it doesn't, because being a vegetarian, I love my soy 'meats'!! However, I do know too much soy can be bad, and little bits of soy can be bad for some people.

So, I boiled up some black eyed peas and kidney beans today, and I want to find some recipe for them that isn't soup. If I can't find anything, I'll just mix some oil, vinegar, and some herbs/spices in them for a... 2 bean salad? Sure.

I have some errands to run today, but I may put them off til tomorrow.

I hope you feel better, Kailie!!! Rest up!

I'm in the same boat as you, unfortunately... I feel like I should take stock in Kleenex, since I've almost used an entire box in the last 24 hours. I'm going to go spend some time working in the basement where it's cool- my sewing room is down there.
