They seriously need to look at the management of that company because I found out today that 2 more full time permanent nurses have handed in their notice in the last week or two.

That makes the staff turn over in the last year at least 20 if not more.

They are currently orientating 4 new nurses, for other positions that were vacated in the last 6 weeks or so. Now they have to hire and orientate 2 more.

That kind of turnover is crazy the way the economy has been the last few years. It's not like anyone has prospective employers beating down their doors. Back in the mid-90's when it was totally an employee's market I was recruited away from a job for more pay and better opportunity. That kind of thing isn't happening right now, and turnover like that in your workplace reflects very poorly on management for sure.

Yeppers! The management there is atrocious!

After struggling with it since October last year, I finally had to go off on an indefinite medical leave for stress and really severe depression. My doctor told me that my work environment is completely toxic and he agrees with me: He doesn't want me going back there.

I know the feeling! At the clinic where I work, the turnover is ridiculous. We don't get any appreciation for our efforts, we get paid crap, no benefits even though we are supposed ti be getting them. If I wasn't going.to take a course then i'd leave. The hours would allow me to work full time while goingbto school fulltime. Employers really need to learn how to manage their businesses better. One of my former bosses told me the key is to know how to manage your boss. Which is true, you have to work with what you've got so work it so you get what you want. But some people are so idiotic that there is no helping them. Ith the owner of my clinic(she owns 8 clinics) she thinks she's doing you a favour by giving you a job thatbpays crap but expects you to do double the work. So I empathize with you. Im glad that you were able to take leave though. We'd be fired.

We have a good union, and they're behind me 110%. I've filed a grievance about the working conditions and the bullying by management. If you say anything about the working conditions, they put you under a microscrope and watch you like a hawk. That's intimidating and bullying! Everyone there walks on eggs and is afraid to speak up about things. I'm not! I believe in standing up for what I believe and I believe everyone needs a healthy work environment.

Last year 3 nurses and 2 clerks took time off for stress. Another is sick pretty much every other day and when she is there she looks like a walking zombie ready to burst into tears.

When I talk about the turn around, I'm talking about nurses. The clerks there have an equal turn around.
