So, last night I was watching TV when Holland came over and plopped on my lap. She doesn't get that cuddly too often, so I always enjoy it when she does. She curled up in my lap and she likes to wrap her front legs around my leg or arm, like she's hugging me.

And there I sat as her purrs turned to snores, just loving the fact that this little kitty loves me and trusts me, even though she is afraid of every other human on earth. Then I heard a "thwack!" as a very large miller moth ran into the ceiling near the light. Holland was up in a flurry of claws - how can they create such an illusion that they are completely sacked out when really they are ALWAYS on guard?!? And just like that, cuddle time was over. Here is Holland for the next half hour, until I decided to just go to bed:

I guess it's nice that she loves me as long as there aren't any fun "toys" flying around the room...

That's very true! Mollipop was in bed with me last night, sound asleep. Or so I thought. I never heard the bug flying around the stand light next to the bed.....never heard that thing. But she did! She leaped up, sat on the very edge of the bed and watched that thing for quite awhile. I didn't want her to make a mad leap off the bed and onto the light and both crash to the floor, so I turned the light off. She sat there for a few more minutes, then came back to me for more naptime.

Oh, I love seeing Holland, she is so cute..

this reminds me of a line from a comedian (Paula Poundstone) I saw on tv years ago, I still laugh when I remember it because it is sooooo true!! :

She said, "The problem with cats is that they get the same exact look whether they see a moth or an ax-murderer."

Yup, murder on the mind, heh!

Oh my gosh, just reminded of this thread. I have the tall cat shelves by the top windows about 8 feet off hard tile flooring, but the cats have never fallen (that I'm aware of).

Well, we had a fly of some sort come into the house and they were both on the high speed pursuit.

It went up to the ceiling above those windows, and I figured it'd be trouble.

Sure enough the SECOND I stood under Wesley to tell him to calm down, he leapt upwards to try and smack it on the ceiling only to botch the landing and then fall down onto my shoulder and one hand. And of course he leaps off me and scratched me good in the process, but thank goodness I caught him so it was just a three foot drop or so!!!!!
