Awww Debbie, I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words I can say right now that will make it easier. But just know we're thinking about you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Perhaps you can take comfort by reading the Rainbow Bridge poem
, and writing him a letter or poem about the memories you shared. ((((hugs))))

Dear Debbie-

20 years old! I was so impressed with that. She must have lived such a wonderful life with you. It is so heartbreaking to lose a cherished pet. It hurts soooooo much. . . . like someone tore your heart out. Let yourself cry. Try to remember all the good times.

When I recently lost my cat, George, I put a photo album together with his pictures (along with my other cat's) and also wrote down all the crazy things he did. . . . . like ringing bells to go out, tripping me when I tried to get up in the morning, etc.

I'm still trying to decide what to do with his earthly possessions (his favorite box that he slept in & his toys). For the time being it's right where it was when he passed away.

I let my new cat, Morrell have some of the toys, but I placed a special one next to his tin of ashes.

Take care. You will feel better as time goes on.

Laurie

The last few days have been very different without Lovey Lou. His brother Samson has been a little lost without Lovey Lou. They were together for 19 years. Samson gets along better with the dogs so he has had the run of the house for the last few days. Most of the time he is either at my feet or in my lap.

Our Lovey went very peacefully. I wanted him to leaves this world the way he came into it. He died in my arms hearing my voice. I take comfort in that he was in no pain. It was his time to leave and he was greeted on the other side by my Grandmother and Lovey Lou brother Boy Kitty. If you knew Lovey you would know that he was a no nonsense kitty. He did not like a lot of commotion. He love to snuggle and he was very talkative. Every Morning when I would go into our Cat room / office he would greet me with a series of Meows...... It was as if he was saying good morning. When he died he left us with that same series of Meows ... it was his way of saying good by and that he loved us. We were graced with our little boy Lovey for 20 years. He went a lot of things with me. He will be greatly missed.I have included a picture of how we will remember our Beloved Lovey Lou

Take care
Debbie

I had a lump in my throat reading about Lovey Lou's last moments. 20 years is a long time to have a wonderful life with people who loved him so much.

Sigh. . . . .
You brought tears to my eyes.
What a beautiful boy that Lovey Lou was.
Sorry I thought he was a she in my previous reply.

My George also left another kitty behind. . . . wondering where he went. It was so sad to see Molly looking, waiting for him

George also died in my arms (sort of) - I held him the best I could while the vet put him to sleep. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

I also like to believe that he is with my deceased relatives. . . . waiting for me to come join him one day.

Take care.

Laurie
