My dear sweetheart of a husband adopted Bonnie (a foster cat who came to me as a scared pregnant kitten) today for my birthday.
Bonnie has been with us for a bit over 3 months now (after having been trapped). She had her kittens and they were all sucessfully placed. She did have an adoption application accepted for her, but when she reached her new home she panicked. She litterally was climbing the walls (she did that when she first came to me, also). The new adoptive parents were not able to deal with this and brought her back.
Well, she is very comfortable here and now will never have to go to another home to be so frightened again.
Thank you Charlie for the best gift ever.

Oh - I'm so sorry it didn't work out, but THANK GOD they returned her to you!!!! You're so wonderful for keeping her. I'm sure she'll be happy, and I bet she'll be a great, great pet!!!!

(That's how we ended up with our Spooky girl... an adoption that didn't work out. When she came back, she came back to stay, and that was just fine with us. We love her to bits!
