i wasnt sure where to put this thread so i figured this may be a good place.

i am thinking about taking jericho to the vet to see about anti-anxiety medicine or to just figure out his aggression problems.
but my problem is i have no clue what a vet visit would cost. does it just depend? or how much does a normal check up/questions based visit normally run?

It really depends on your vet. Around here, some vets don't charge an office fee at all, some charge $50. Has Jericho never been to a vet at all? While vets of course would be your source for anti-anxiety meds, very few vets have much idea about cat behavior. You'd probably get better results from a consultation with a cat behavior specialist. Call your local animal welfare groups to see if any of them have recommendations.

The cost for just a vet visit and exam varies depending on the area and the office. It usually runs between $35 and $55. I'd call around and ask. Then of course it's extra for any medication.
If he's never been to the vet it's a really good idea to get him in for an exam. It should be done yearly to be on the safe side. Cats are experts at hiding that they're sick or hurting.
Is Jericho neutered? If not doing that can help aggression issues. Aggression is also a common result of physical problems like illness and pain. One of my foster cats started acting aggressive with the other cats and it turned out that he had a very painful mouth disease.

Didn't Jericho go to you really young, at 5-6 weeks or something like that? If this is the case this might not be aggression, just that he didn't have the chance to be educated by his momma...

Happens more often than not - you might want to consider retraining him instead of medicating him...
Unless this is really wrong, but it rings a bell to me...

He's been to the vet to get shots and get neutered. And everyone old me it would get better once he was neutered and it didn't one bit.
I wanna take him to the vet bc it wOrries me he's in some kind of pain bc he is just miserable anytime he's picked but....but then again he's ok being touched when he comes over himself to cuddle, so maybe he jus doesn't like being held lol.

Ive always thought that his aggression was so bad because his mom had nothing to do with her litter and we did get him so Young. But we've tried it all for a year now to get him to be more social and tolerant and nothings worked. I REALLY think having another cat would do the trick for him, bc it's obvious some of his aggression is boredom no matter how much I play with him and use his toys and stuff it just doesn't compare to the run and chase he REALLY enjoys and that he can only really do with another cat.

Imo all cats should have at least one companion. I would be miserable if I lived in a house full of cats and never met another human. It must be the same for an only cat. Although we love our cats and try to make their lives good there are things that only another cat can give. It's obvious when I look at my cats to see how much they enjoy each other. I really think it would be a good idea to get a buddy for Jericho but you have to make sure the other cat is a good match personality wise. I'd get an adult cat about the same age with similar energy level.
Medication should be a last resort but a vet visit is still in order to make sure that it's nothing physical bothering him.

What is it he does that is aggressive? Is it to you or just in general? Could you explain?

Biting, hissing, clawing, attacking out of nowhere from a dead sleep, when he's just passing by anytime you move or don't move. And company is not even an option. He strikes at the face like a viper. Not exaggerating.

ETA: there's basically no touching him ever or you're getting attacked and even when he comes up and bumps you for a pet and scents my hand he will immediately turn around and attack my hand or arm....even though he's asking for rubs.
