cat wont stop pooping and peeing everywhere

I have a cat that will not stop pooping and peeing in the house. He just recently started to do this. He has been litter box trained and neutered but he goes to other places to poop and pee. Is there anything thing I can do to get him to stop this behavior?

What's the litterbox situation--where is it kept, how big is it, what kind of litter do you use, how often do you scoop it, how often do you dump it and put in fresh litter, etc.?

Where does he pee and poop (what part of the house)? Same place every time or different places? Does it seemed to be linked to something or is it totally random?

First thing to do whenever a cat displays a troublesome behavior for no obvious reason is to get him in for a checkup. Sometimes the first sign of a serious illness is a cat peeing and pooping in places other than the litterbox.
