Less tree for climbing

The cats' favorite tree in the house collapsed the other day. I was told the trunk got too heavy for the roots. Here's the before and after pictures.

BEFORE

AFTER (the cats don't seem to be very interested in what is left)

Your cats look like they loved the tree. To me it looks as if the tree was planted too close to the house, causing it to grow crooked. Has the tree roots caused any foundation issues.

Fortunately, no damage to the foundation. Another thing I noticed, there are less birds too.

It was such a nice tree as well!

What a pretty tree, too. That's a shame.

There was a huge pine tree at our apartment complex that DH loved. I did too. One day he told me that they chopped it down!

I asked the apartment manager about it and they did NOT chop it down! It actually fell down! It had looked like a healthy tree but the inside was rotten! It was a good thing it happened at night and no one was hurt nor were there any cars parked where it fell. Only part of the sidewalk was damaged. I still miss seeing it.
