I'm confused. "Genderless" baby? - Page 2

Actually, there was an article in the weekend Toronto Star that was written by this mother about why they are doing this and partly it is from a book they've read by a lady who supports this idea.

They are not denying the baby's gender, they are simply not making it public. They are choosing to let the child just be itself without outside pressure to act/be a certain way, wear certain colours associated with gender. They don't plan to carry this on for years and years and years, just in the initial formative years.

Seriously, (my joking aside) I don't see that what they are doing is all that bad.

The Mom spoke out and accidentally spilled the beans.

As Jazz grew, his love of bright colors (especially pink) and lots of fabric (especially dresses) continued, and he wanted to grow his hair. The older he became, the more he met with pressure from peers and adults to adjust his image and 'act more like a boy.' Jazz remained committed to his own style."

Witterick writes that Jazz, while listening to "Free to be You and Me" soon before Storm's birth, began asking questions about how people would treat Storm should he, too, like to wear pink one day.
I was right! It's a boy! He looks like a boy.

I believe that those were developed over time to enhance feminine and masculine traits to entice a mate. A woman that wears clothes that accentuate her hips, hourglass shape, long eyelashes, nails, hair, the way she carries herself, and other things that are inherently feminine will be more attractive to a male in just about any culture. When a woman is aroused her cheeks blush and her lips become more red, hence the origination of makeup. A masculinised girl thats plain and frumpy and walks like a farm boy is not likely to be found as attractive by guys she likes, and just as any young boy and girl isn't going to invent calculus all on their own overnight, these are things that if not taught will be undeveloped and involve a lot of trial and error.
