Today I was here in my study when there was suddenly an awful racket outside. My nasty neighbor dog was fighting with something(s). I went out to the backyard, as I'm afraid to go into the front when I know "Mr Nasty" is around and heard yelping. When I opened the side gate, there was a large breed little girl puppy, about 8-10 weeks old. I picked her up and was going to drive around the 'hood as she didn't look familiar at all. I soon found a black lab mama and another puppy and just got mad--knowing they were either lost, or most likely dumped--as they were all females.

I decided to just load them up and take them to the shelter, feeling they'd at least be safer than roaming the streets, especially the puppies. They all loaded easily and off I went, backseat full of dirty, flea ridden dogs.

One vomited on my leather seats...sigh.

They are now all safely inside at the shelter. Hopefully the owner will decide to look them up, and if not, they will be put up for adoption. I'm not sure how adoptable the pups are, so if you can spare any vibes for this lost little family, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Cally

Not to sound mean, but I hope the "owners" of those puppies don't come to claim them. It sounds as if they weren't being properly taken care of.

Many
to you for rescuing them, and many for the puppies in finding their forever homes!

Thank you. I agree, the pups were in rough shape. I worried about possibly bringing something home to MY dogs (ie parvo) so when I got home I cleaned up the car, then took all my clothes off in the garage, put them straight into the laundry with OxyClean, and ran upstairs and took a shower, all the while telling my dogs to "stay away!"

I get so annoyed at people. We get puppies and kitties dropped off all of the time. Why do they think pets are disposable. they are adoptable

Kudos for your part. People that "drop off" pets should be "dropped off" themselves somewhere where they have to survive on their own. Some family with kids will visit the shelter, and they all will get adopted and live happily everafter.

I contacted a Lab rescue organization about the adult female dog this morning. I have no idea if they're still there or not. I generally do not check back with the shelter.

Thanks again for the vibes and support.

Someone dumped a little mini-mix dog in my driveway about six months ago. Shes about 13 lbs chi/dachs mix. The vet said she is 3-4 yrs old, looked good and was already spayed, so we ended up keeping her. We couldn't bear the thought of her being put to sleep if she could not be adopted. She has issues but we are working on them. There have been days when I tell her she is this close to going to the shelter! Sometimes it works! I have a 6 1/2 yr old Terrier and my husband wanted a small dog that he could handle. We have dogs, 60 lbs and 13 lbs along with a 20 lb cat and 9 lb cat, what a pac!
