Wish us luck!!!!
This should be an exam visit only and probably won't be too bad, but hopefully the boys stay calm and friendly.

Good luck, but remember - the vets have seen it all, and cats are notorious for being, ah, less that cordial at the vet (or on the trip to and back!)

Hope all went well!

Thanks everyone!

My sweethearts have ear mites. They have not been in contact with any other cats since their sisters & Strange Cat (mom) - so I called Strange Cat's human and told her to get to the vet to have them checked out.

Other than a STRONG dislike, especially on my sweet Simon's part, for the rectal thermometer (obviously) and ear swab (to get a sample of the discharge for the ear mite check) they seemed to do very well! No heartworms (though they were dewormed anyway) and FeLV/FIV negative! They also had the first round of the feline distemper vaccine. (So much for exam only! lol! I don't know why I thought that.)

Garfunkel is at 2.5 pounds, and Simon at 2.3 - both considered "ideal" for their age, according to my paperwork.

When they came back from bloodwork/vaccines, they were still purring and went to sleep right away in their cage on the way home - and they are happy, playful kittens all night tonight, so all in all I'd say it was a successful visit!

Aww, I'm glad they did well and are in good shape! Hopefully they won't fight the ear mite treatment too much...

When we adopted Dorothy in January, I somehow knew the free initial vet visit that was included with the adoption fee wouldn't be free... I think it was well over $100 because of bloodwork and fecal test and subsequent meds...
Ah, but she's worth it.
